I have to start off by saying this might be one of the nicest. Well constructed, high quality pieces of furniture that I have come across. The actual designer of this piece is undetermined but John Widdicomb had some of the best designers of the era making furniture for the company such as T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings and George Nakashima. This item features wonderful sculpted feet with one drawer and stunning bookmatched wood grain that is beautifully displayed at the joining of the top and sides of the piece. This bookmatching technique takes a highly skilled craftsman to make the veneer from the top and sides appear to be one continuous piece. Even the back of this dresser ... moreis very well constructed as pictured. This item dates back to around the 1960's and is in very good vintage condition with only minor signs of normal wear including some minor dings. These wonderful Nightstands have metal/Brass-finish handles on the drawers, and they have unusual and stylish round tapered legs, see pictures. These Nightstands are in good original condition, and they have an interesting light/medium stain finish with doors on the bottoms. See pictures. These high-quality pieces are secure and sturdy& ready for daily use, and they were produced by John Widdic omb. A fine furniture manufacturer. These Nightstands have dove-tailed drawers that are made out of solid wood on the inside that are working properly. See pictures. JOHN WIDDICOMB NIGHTSTAND Beautiful nightstand/side table. Inside top drawer is a brass name plate showing"JOHN WIDDICOME MAKERS OF FINE FURNITURE GRAND RAPIDS. MICHIGAN. Very good and clean condition. The top right drawer pull is missing it's ring. There is a glass ring on the right front corner. In the overall photo of the top of the piece you cannot see it. It is only into the finish not in the wood(no black ring or white water ring) Very solidly built. Taken from another ad states wood is"stained maple, stained oak, lacquered mahogany" The finish is very good but not perfect and is in restorable condition. I don't see any damage to the wood. My Google search found same stand selling for $2200.00 1stdibs. Only difference I could see was Manufacturers mark in drawer is stamped into the wood and mine is on a brass ... moreplate.
