They are made ... moreof cherry with a chocolate brown stain. Golden highlights are present as well. The pair have cabriole legs with carved. Acanthus leaves as well as ball and claw foot details. The apron sections are extremely detailed and ornate. They feature a carved/incised acanthus scroll and shell pattern which is present on all 4 sides. The tops are in a stepped design and are very thick. There is a recessed, window pane feature which is designed for a glass top. The tables are very nice. There are no manufacturer's marks but there is a patent sticker present. They are very sturdy though not exceptionally heavy. There are just a few and very minor nicks and slight scuffs which are not distracting and which can be resolved. The original glass is not present but should be very easy and inexpensive to replace. These are beautiful! Please note that we have the matching sofa table listed separately. The tables are rectangular and can be placed as you choose since the aprons are the same. They measure 21.5" tall. 21.75" wide and 27.75" long. The replacement glass needs to be approximately 17.25" x 23" Shipping via GREYHOUND to the station nearest you. We are pleased to offer this fine pair of Mid Century nightstands or accent/side tables. The pair are crafted of solid wood and feature French. Louis XV style. They are a tiered design with an upper drawer and a lower shelf. The pair have curved front profiles and cabriole legs. The drawer has a large or ornate pull on the bowed front. A window pane/recessed panel is featured on each of the concave sides of the drawer front. The pair have BEAUTIFUL marble tops from Portugal. The tops are cut to perfectly match the curvature of the table tops. The marble is a rouge beige color with ruddy brown(a little red in the undertones) color to the veins. The marble is of the same slab as the colors are identical, but, you can tell that the vein patterns are different. No doubt, the slab had a varied pattern. This gives the pair a matched but interesting ... morelook. The tops sit freely on the tables and over extend the tables in size. The marble is stamped"W&Z Portugal" The tables are not marked. The pieces are in very good condition. They retain their original, golden pecan finish. There are some minor scuffs and surface scratches but, nothing distracting or severe. The marble is very good with no chips, cracks, etc. There are very minor and very light surface scratches that are practically unnoticeable. This is a very nice pair of Mid Century nightstands/tables. Please note that we have the matching sofa table listed separately. It is dated 1961.
