Italian Hand Painted Tile Wall Mural Rome Temple of Vesta 4 ft x 2 ft
Offered for sale is a beautiful 18 tile mural hand painted and Made in Italy. It measures 4 ft x 2 ft. I bought it 20 years ago when we were building our Italian style home and traveling in Italy for Italian majolica for architectural features. This one did not find a spot and I finally realized that I need to part with the beauty! This mural depicts the Temple of Vesta in the Forum in Rome. It is signed by the artist on the right bottom corner-Tan Correale Italy. The back of each of the almost 7 7/8" tiles is marked DASS Made in Italy. Each tile is numbered on the back for brainless assembly. I searched eBay and the internet for similar murals-hard to find. The tile mural shopper needs to realize the difference in a hand painted tile and a printed tile-big difference-similar to the difference between an oil painting and a print. Lovely Sherwin Antique Art Nouveau Tile
15cm x 15cm Sherwin antique art nouveau tile. Stamped ORIENTAL on the reverse. The condition is not perfect. Please see the description. However, the obvious damage is restricted the the edges, the surface of the tile is a beautiful rich, glossy, smooth glaze. As with other Oriental tiles I have, the surface is covered in a dense, very fine network of crazing. Please excuse the camera glare. The postage is charged only at cost price. Beautiful Boote Antique Art Nouveau Tile
15cm x 15cm Boote antique art nouveau tile. Typical Boote reverse. Though there is a thin layer of plaster attached in some parts. Beautiful design and very nice glazes. The background is a gorgeous dark blue which gets lighter towards the centre. This seems to be a deliberate effect with this design. 2 nice rich colours in flower. But quite a pale green in the stem. This tray measures about 16 3/4" in diameter and is found in preowned and used condition showing age related wear. There is above average wear in some places so the tray is probably found in below average condition. The lovely pottery tile is free of any chips. Cracks, or damage although shows a couple scratches and short gouges. The hand wrought aluminum tray shows a good amount of scuffs, scratches, and black discoloration spots or contact marks where something probably sat on the tray. I'm not sure if these can be polished or buffed out. There are some gouges especially on the bottom of the tray where the gouges are heavy in places. The rim is a little out of round in places. Antique Pressed Majolica Art Nouveau Tile Vintage #195
Beautiful antique Presse d Majolica Art Nouveau tile. Circa early 1 9 00's. In a very bright caramel color, tile is in nice cond ition. There is some damage at one of the edges although is not much visible from the front. Back of tile has been trimmed in a 45º angle(please check attached photos) Very thick and sh i n y glazing with beautiful crazing from age, back of the tile has been cleaned. And there are no marks. It measures 16 cm x 16 cm(6 1/4" square) I always t ry my best to combine shipping charges. In some cases it might not be possible since some tiles are shipped from a different location. This is a tile from Ellison tile studios. The dimensions are approximately 4"x4" The design is inspired by historic European architectural details. The hand painted wash allows the texture of the clay to show through to further enhance the aged appearance. This tile has excellent detail! It also has a notch on the back for hanging. Auctions from Tile Heaven- http:www.tileheaven.co.uk TH1932 12" x 6" Egyptian Revival Majolica Tile Panel c.1870 Style: Egyptian revival Technique: Moulded majolica Maker: Unknown Dimensions: 12" x 6" Two tiles Date: circa 1870. An excellent pair of tile with a pair of winged beasts either side of a decorated urn. Moulded in a durable semi-vitrified buff clay body and decorated with three glazes. Two different versos. I am inclined to suggest Maw and if any other another of the western companies from Hereford or perhaps Ruabon. Condition is fair. Three noticable corner chips, numerous very tiny rim and surface chips, wear and rubbing, a hairline, very tight and no concern with the durability of the clay of these tiles. The damage not so much to be significantly off putting especially if viewed in the light of the antiquity ... moreof the style. One of those rare occasions I may suggest the wear adds to the feel of antiquity for it is quite consistent however that is not to say that we would not be even more bedazzled by such tiles in perfect condition. G lazed tiles with transfer print floral design. Good glaze. Probably late Victorian The t ile is 6 inches by 6 inches Th is is reclaimed and h as small imperfections as a consequence of being a totally authentic pre-used antique/vintage piece. There is a small amount of residual grout on the reverse. There are extremely small chips to the rim. Probably imper cept i ble once refitted. I shall ship with My Hermes.
