Up for auction is a pretty Victorian Print& Tint floral tile maker unknown. This tile has a large central printed design depicting roses in a circle they have been hand finished in red/ pink& yellow and the leaves in green. The print is in a brown colour and there are nice quarter circles. Highlighted in yellow, decorating the 4 corners with abstract patterns. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. 15cm x 15cm Sherwin antique art nouveau tile. Stamped ORIENTAL on the reverse. The condition is not perfect. Please see the description. However, the obvious damage is restricted the the edges, the surface of the tile is a beautiful rich, glossy, smooth glaze. As with other Oriental tiles I have, the surface is covered in a dense, very fine network of crazing. Please excuse the camera glare. The postage is charged only at cost price. 15cm x 15cm Boote antique art nouveau tile. Typical Boote reverse. Though there is a thin layer of plaster attached in some parts. Beautiful design and very nice glazes. The background is a gorgeous dark blue which gets lighter towards the centre. This seems to be a deliberate effect with this design. 2 nice rich colours in flower. But quite a pale green in the stem. Antique Villeroy & Boch Mettlach Art Deco Floor Medallion 4 Tiles 13" Square
For your consideration is this group of 4 art deco floor tiles by Villeroy and Boch with a total of 7 groups available. Each of the 4 tiles measure 6 5/8" square. Making a medallion that measures about 13 1/4" and are about 5/8" thick. They were likely floor tile and I would guess date to the first quarter of the 20th century. When placed together 4 tiles form an intricate, colorful medallion with a bold geometric design. Each tile is signed but alot of them have just enough mortar residue to fill in most of the signature. They are very nice but they are used, salvaged from a building and stashed in the St. Louis area. Virtually every tile will have some very minor edge chips, some color variation and varying degrees of mortar and grout residue. Nothing that detracts from the strong graphics of these unusual tiles. Beautiful antique Presse d Majolica Art Nouveau tile. Circa early 1 9 00's. In a very bright caramel color, tile is in nice cond ition. There is some damage at one of the edges although is not much visible from the front. Back of tile has been trimmed in a 45º angle(please check attached photos) Very thick and sh i n y glazing with beautiful crazing from age, back of the tile has been cleaned. And there are no marks. Probably late Victorian The t ile is 6 inches by 6 inches Th is is reclaimed and h as small imperfections as a consequence of being a totally authentic pre-used antique/vintage piece. Antique Victorian English Blue & White Floral Printed Tulip Tile Lea & Boulton
Up for auction is a pretty Victorian floral printed tile by Lea& Boulton. This tile is printed with a lovely design featuring tulips and associated foliage surrounded by a scrolled border decorated with part leaves& other designs. The pattern on the tile is printed in a steel blue colour(greyish blue) On an off-white background. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. The tile measures 6 inches square. This tile is in good condition. The four corners have all been neatly shaped probably to fit the tile into its original setting. This has been done professionally probably at the time of manufacture and in any event prior to the tile being decorated. As the glaze continues over the shaped edges. The edges and corners are generally in nice condition. There is a very small shallow chip to the bottom left corner. Very tiny& ... moreshallow chip/ nic to bottom edge near left corner. Tiny bits of grazing to top edge near left corner and left edge about an inch up from bottom corner- but all extremely minimal and restricted to the very outer edges. There is a little blurring/ smudging to the print affecting a tiny area in the top left corner area. And a few specks of blue and other colours in the white areas, as well as a few very tiny indents and raised areas to the surface- all manufacturing flaws common with tiles from this period. The tile has overall crazing which is pale in colour& a little scratching to the surface commensurate with age and use. Please enlarge photos to see tile in more detail. Antique Art Nouveau Edwardian Yellow & Green Majolica Tile - Corn Brothers ?
Up for auction is an Art Nouveau Edwardian Majolica Tile probably made by Corn Brothers. The tile is 6 inches(approx 15 cm) square. It is decorated with a stylised central image in yellow and green depicting stylised flowerheads. Stems and leaves. All on a cream background. The tile has a lovely glossy majolica finish to the surface. Unfortunately as you can see this tile has the top left corner missing. However it would display well with sensitive framing or could perhaps be used in a project where a part tile was required. Apart from the missing corner there is also a bit of minor chipping/ nibbling affecting the left and bottom edges. There are a couple of tiny marks to the surface towards the lower right corner. And a tiny dark mark below the central image towards the left. The surface of the tile has overall crazing commensurate with ... moreage& the odd scratch. Up for auction is a pretty printed Victorian or Edwardian tile made by T& R Boote. This tile is printed with a large art nouveau image of a stylised flower with buds and leaves in a red or dark pink colour on a white background. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. ANTIQUE DELFT CASTLE TILE For sale is one beautiful Dutch Delft tile decorated with a house. Well and ships in the background. The tile is framed with a newer Dutch oak tile frame. As often occurs with these tiles, there are some chips, and dings mostly covered by the frame. Noticeable outside the frame is one chip on the side and a one on the top. There is no maker's mark. The tile measures approximately 5" X 5" and the frame dimensions are 6 1/2" X 6 1/2" I am also selling a similar tile from the same time period under a different listing. Measurements: Tile is approximately 5" X 5" and outer frame dimensions of frame are 6 1/2" X 6 1/2" Age: Based on my research. I believe the tile dates sometime between 1690-1790. Antique English Art Nouveau Majolica Green Moulded Tile red / pink flower
Up for auction is a Majolica Art Nouveau moulded tile maker unknown. The tile measures approx 6 inches(15 cms) square. This tile has a fabulous large image depicting a single stylised flower in a deep pink/ reddish colour with a mustard coloured centre together with swirling stems& stylised leaves. The tile has a lovely glossy majolica glaze predominantly in deep green. See section above for full condition report. Please enlarge photos to see tile in more detail. It has the word'ENGLAND' embossed towards the bottom and a registration number that is indistinct towards the top. An ancient fertility symbol, seen atop gateposts around 17th, 18th and 19th century England although Victorian sensibilities and the discovery and import of pineapples resulted in them being known as pineapples.
