Thickness is approximately 3/8" or 10 mm! The tile dates to probably Circa 1890 to 1930 during the Art Nouveau or Art Deco period in England. The tile has been reclaimed from tear outs or tear downs. Cleaned(concrete/mastic has been removed more or less) and is now ready for adaptive reuse in your project. In addition to be used as an architectural feature on walls and tables, they are used as trivets. All these tiles were originally hand made and decorated/painted. VINTAGE TILE Wall Art 12"x 12 Pottery Tubelined Majolica Art Deco Nouveau Flower
Up for consideration is an old wall tile(I do not know when this was made) Beautiful vibrant colors throughout. Beautiful bell-like flowers on a mug. The mug holding another huge orange and yellow flower. This has an old black velvet-like board applied to the back with a hanger for hanging(the black backing is a little separated at the bottom) It may be signed but I did not want to ruin the backing to find out. Could be a hidden treasure! this measures approx 12 inches tall x 12 inches wide& 1/2" thick with the backing. There is some crazing and the colors are beautiful. in a couple very small spots, tubelines(raised lines) are nicked. Very very minimal and hard to see but be aware.There are a couple dark spots(likely from age) and a small popped glaze bubble(or a nick? Art Deco Terra Cotta Brick Glazed Facade Tile Chicago Northwestern Terra Cotta
Offered for auction is a great vintage piece of Chicago history. This fabulous tile façade brick was made by the Northwestern Terra Cotta Co in the 1920’s. This company provided terra cotta bricks and tiles for many of the famous architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan. Many of the landmark buildings in Chicago have decorative elements provided by this company. The brick is classic Art Deco with a fabulous incised design. It is glazed a red terra cotta color with flecks of black and gray. It is glazed on all sides but the glaze has been rubbed off on one edge. The tile is in very good condition. It has minor scrapes here and there with a large chip on the backside of one end. Both top and bottom. This would not be visible with installation and does not affect the ability to use the brick. COLOURFUL RICHARDS ART DECO `DUTCH BOY AND GIRL` TILE
This colourful amusing tile was made by Richards. Stoke on Trent in the 1920`s. It is decorated to look like tube lining. This tile is one of a series of tiles produced by Richards showing children in Dutch clothing in Dutch scenes. The tile is 6 inches square, it has the Richards factory mark on the back. The tile is in good condition apart from some staining on the left side and across the top. The tile has been used as a teapot stand and there is slight rubbing to the glaze where the teapot has stood.

Set of (4) Art Deco Ceramic Tile Medallion Villeroy & Boch Mettlach
For your consideration is this group of 4 art deco ceramic tiles. They are signed by the maker. Villeroy& Boch, Mettlach and measure about 6 3/4" square and 5/8" thick. It would be my guess that they were made as floor tile and likely date to the 1920's or 30's. They have an overall impressed geometric pattern that combines with a central pinwheel shape that gives a dramatic art deco look. Each one has varying amounts of mortar residue on the back as well as some very minor edge wear but nothing that detracts. ANTIQUE ART DECO BELGIUM TILES Cement Decorative Tiles imported. 84 square foot. They will look great in a kitchen or hall. In Europe they put hardwood flooring around them. Or surround them with e.g. yellow tiles same size, so this looks like a carpet. If you wax the tiles the colors will light up. You could even diamond polish them. Few chips off tiles and one is broken in two. I have a few spare ones that are also broken, that will be hardly noticeable once they lay on the floor. We imported them from Belgium thinking we need them in our new house. We ended up not building the house. Right now it is 84 square feet. But if the tiles are laid down there will be grout in between so that space can vary from 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch. I ONLY WANT TO SELL THE ENTIRE LOT

This is one of three examples of this design which we are currently offering on eBay- see our other listings for the other two tiles. This one is probably the second best and is a good example of how English tile designs were copied in Japan in the inter-war years. Maker; Danto Kaisha. Japan Date: c1920 Size: 6" square(15.2 cm) Based on a Richards Tiles design of c1915-20. The design is virtually identical to the Richard's version. But in rather more muted colours.
