Antique Vintage Mosaic Tile Company Blue Ceramic Wall Heater 1920's
This electric wall heater was removed from a home that was built in the 1920's. I'm not sure if it was working when removed. Since the power was already cut to the house. It appears that th e small filaments are broken that run through the ceramic. So I'm thinking that it would need to be repaired to actually be used a s a hea ter again. However. I have seen folks take out the heat ing element and make a recessed magazine holder out of them. There is a metal grate that fits into the openings o f these units. And it is missing on this one. The cover is made of 2 large tiles that fit tog ether. And they are in great shape with no cracks and just a few tiny chips near one of the mounting holes. There is just some discoloration from where the wire grate sat. And there is also some color variation in the glaze. These'MTC' pieces ... moreof that time had a bit of variation in the color which makes for a hand-glazed look. The f inish is matte. The chrome around the control knob is rusty. Offered is a rare and beautiful framed decorative Batchelder Tile Mosaic Display with Twin Peacocks Drinking at a Fountain. Very well made and framed with 2 3/4 x2 34 inch tiles and wood. The overall measurement of the piece is 20 3/4" x 20 3/4" including frame. The main center tile with twin peacocks measures 11 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches and the surrounding tiles measure 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches. Nice Old Set of 1940s-early 1950s Salesman Sample Mosaic Tiles In Original Box. 17 pieces. 16 different colors. Tiles are in very good condition. One of the tiles has a very small chip on the side or back side of the Mosaic. Flaws can't be seen when there laying flat. A couple tiles have mold imperfections. None have cracks or breaks. Tiles have nice color. Colors are mostly Pastel. There is a Maroon one. Darker green one, black and other pastel colors. There is a white and an ivory white one. The rest are assorted colors. Each Mosaic tile measures 2in. square. The box is in pretty good condition. No rips or tears, just a little staining and discoloration.
