Up for auction is a pretty vintage tile- unsure of age but likely to be Edwardian or Victorian. This tile has a large image filling the whole surface areas with large pink flowers and attractive associated foliage. The tile measures 6 inches square. A flea bite to the top right corner of and some scratches to the surface. Approx size 6 inches x 6 inches x 3/8th inch. Weight approx 450 grams unpacked. This tile is identical to one listed. G lazed tiles with transfer print floral design. Good glaze. Probably late Victorian The t ile is 6 inches by 6 inches Th is is reclaimed and h as small imperfections as a consequence of being a totally authentic pre-used antique/vintage piece. There is a small amount of residual grout on the reverse. There are extremely small chips to the rim. Probably imper cept i ble once refitted. I shall ship with My Hermes. Antique Victorian English Blue & White Floral Printed Tulip Tile Lea & Boulton
Up for auction is a pretty Victorian floral printed tile by Lea& Boulton. This tile is printed with a lovely design featuring tulips and associated foliage surrounded by a scrolled border decorated with part leaves& other designs. The pattern on the tile is printed in a steel blue colour(greyish blue) On an off-white background. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. The tile measures 6 inches square. This tile is in good condition. The four corners have all been neatly shaped probably to fit the tile into its original setting. This has been done professionally probably at the time of manufacture and in any event prior to the tile being decorated. As the glaze continues over the shaped edges. The edges and corners are generally in nice condition. There is a very small shallow chip to the bottom left corner. Very tiny& ... moreshallow chip/ nic to bottom edge near left corner. Tiny bits of grazing to top edge near left corner and left edge about an inch up from bottom corner- but all extremely minimal and restricted to the very outer edges. There is a little blurring/ smudging to the print affecting a tiny area in the top left corner area. And a few specks of blue and other colours in the white areas, as well as a few very tiny indents and raised areas to the surface- all manufacturing flaws common with tiles from this period. The tile has overall crazing which is pale in colour& a little scratching to the surface commensurate with age and use. Please enlarge photos to see tile in more detail. Interesting Antique Victorian Aesthetic Movement Brown & White Floral Print Tile
Up for auction is an attractive Victorian Aesthetic Movement floral printed brown& white tile. This tile is interesting in that it is an identified Mintons design. However it bears the maker's mark for Lea& Boulton. It is possible that both firm's produced the same design or that Mintons have used blank Lea& Boulton tiles to print their design on. This tile is printed with a lovely design in dark brown depicting a central diamond decorated with an urn filled with swirling flowers and foliage. The remaining tile surface is filled with swirls of flowers and stems against a speckled background surrounded by a simple white border and an external brown border. The tile has a bold floral pattern across the whole tile surface in a reddish brown colour on a dark background which has a purple colouration but in sections looks almost black. 3 Decorative Printed and Hand Coloured Victorian Floral Tiles The tiles are printed with hand coloured petals in purple and leaves in green. There is what looks like a pattern number on the back of one tile possibly starting with a G and 4 numerics. One tile has a double impressed L(LL) Condition: These are old used tiles. One has some stained crazing at the top and is crazed over the rest of the tile. There is the odd small nibble to the edge with one of the tiles having nibbles to the top and bottom of the left hand side. There are manufacturing marks, smudges and small misprints. Pretty Victorian tile which I am told was produced around 1894. I have no idea of the maker. The tile is ribbed on the reverse with a flat rectangle in the centre and raised'ENGLAND' across the top. 8493 Pair Victorian Tiles Description A pair of late 19th century Victorian era tiles. They have waffle style backs. But no makers marks in this case. The fronts are printed and polychrome coloured with a stylised floral design typical of the 1880's period. The tiles are of quite thick section. So are probably from a fire surround or similar. They have old collectors series labels to the reverse. Condition Damages to the reverse and to the reverse edges probably caused during removal. The faces have aged crazing which has darkened. One tile has some surface wear and the colours are a little weaker than on the other. Old collectors label to reverse. Victorian Aesthetic Printed Tile- Floral/Flower- Blue 6" 15.2cm square by 10mm deep. Marked to the back"ENGLAND" I am selling a number of tiles this week so please have a look at my other listings. I have included a number of photos and these probably describe the item better than I can and form part of the description. Photos show a brown mark from a sticky label which I have now remved. Please see photos. Please feel free to ask any questions. I will try to answer questions as soon as possible. Postage& Packing I am always happy to combine postage but please contact me before paying to arrange the most suitable method. Unless I am offering free postage I tend to charge P&P at Cost plus 15-20% to cover packaging materials& other charges. Items under 1kg and fit into a box 35x25x16cm(new large size effective 28th October 2013) or 45x32x8cm will be sent by Royal Mail for which I will be charging £3.20. Larger or heavier items will be sent by courier. Up to 2kg £5.50. Up to 5kg £6.50 and up to 10kg £9(there are some exceptions to this for large items) If the items have a value of over £50 and upto £100 an additional £2.22 may be added for insurance and signature. There may also be a surcharge for delivery to the Islands and Highlands. I will still happily send an item by any of the Royal Mail services if you prefer(Standard,Confirmed,Special Delivery) so please just let me know and I will provide a quote. I am always happy for collection in person or for a buyer to arrange their own courier which may be cheaper for the winning bidder. This is a GROUP OF 4 original tiles made by J&J Glow of Chelsea. Ma. The back says"Copyright(looks like 1882) The tiles have been used, so the backs of them do have a light residue of grout. There is some chipping on the edges, mostly on the backsides. Otherwise they are in very good condition. Tiles measure 3" x 3" Check out my other items for more VINTAGE TILES! Due to Ebay policy. Original Antique Decorative Victorian Tile Floral Square Brick Brown Majolica
Bold Victorian tile with floral swirly flower design set in leafy square surrounded by brick shapes. A bright brown majolica glaze. Top left corner is chipped. Some little dinks on the face of the tile. Some scratches and light grazing. 6" square x 7/16th" thick. Reverse is fairly smoke stained with large chip on corner. Stamped ENGLAND.

Original Antique Decorative Victorian Tile Floral Campbell Majolica Brown
Lovely Victorian tile with floral design. Made by Campbell. England. Chocolate brown majolica glaze on moulded base. Such a clear bright and striking glaze. Showing up the floral patterns very well. Unfortunately not in fantastic condition, the bottom right corner has been clipped, some old adhesive remains around the sides, two edges are worn and nibbled, and a little grazing to a couple of high spots. 6" x 6" a smidge under 1/2" thick. Reverse is not particularly clean. Campbell is clearly embossed on a horizontal line grip pattern.
