Description This vintage circa 1940-60's Talavera Pottery tin glazed faience 4" tile. Is hand potted in coarse red earthenware(terracotta) and hand painted with floral foliate design in cobalt blue, yellow, green, russet and black over a cream white glazed ground. This lovely little tile has some black markings to the back but we cannot make them out and could be just accidental kiln firing marks. CONDITION It is in good condition but does have old crackle in the glaze and a small glaze flake nick to the edge. The tile has a quite domed shape to it(please see photos) DIMENSIONS Length 10.4cm. 4& 1/8" inches) width 10.3cm, 4& 1/16" inches) thickness 8-9mm.5/16(of an inch) unpacked weight 159 grams.
