The mug holding another huge orange and yellow flower. This has an old black velvet-like board applied to the back with a hanger for hanging(the black backing is a little separated at the bottom) It may be signed but I did not want to ruin the backing to find out. Rare Vintage Artist Signed TALAVERA TILE MURAL ~ Old Mission ~ 12 tiles WOW! What a great lot of vintage Mexican hand painted tiles! And they tell a story! These wonderful vintage tiles. 12 in all, are hand painted to display a wonderful old church building, probably in ancient Mexico. They both have crosses on the roofs. These are wonderfully hand painted and are marked on the back with C-L-A-S-A Hecho en Mexico( made in Mexico) and there is a sort of bird figure in the middle of the stamp. Each tile measures 4 1/4 inch X 4 1/2 inch, and the 12 of them fit together like a puzzle. All are in good shape with normal minor wear, and one with a tiny chip on the corner. BEAUTIFUL POLYCHROME HAND FINISHED `HUMMING BIRDS` 12 x 6 INCH TILE
This is a wonderful Victorian tile with an illustration of two humming birds in flowers and foliage. It is well coloured with hand finished enamels. The tile is 12 inches by 6 inches and is in good condition. There is a small chip on the bottom edge near to the left corner and another at the top right edge. There is also some light crazing and a small stain near to the lower bird.None of these detract from the overall appearance of the tile. There is no makers mark. See picture#2.

Antique Art Nouveau tile panel 12 tiles Swans true tube lined
Absolutely stunning and rare 12 tile art Nouveau Panel of two swans. The panel is made up of 6X6 tiles and is approximartely 12 inches high by 36 inches wide panel. 3/8 inch thick tiles. This item was found in Australia quite a few years back, and is almost certain a British tile manufacturer and would be late 1800's. The tiles are in excellent condition, minus one small chip that can be easily restored. No cracks, No breaks. Panels of this size and condition are exceedingly rare, and this one displays the height of Art Nouveau design. Please look carefully at the photos. Later typical Art Nouveau tiles are"dust molded" which is a mass production process that involves pressing a raw clay bisquit into a design that had been stamped into a dust mold. The earlier tiles used a technique called tube lining or squeeze bag. True tube ... morelined tiles also used a blank bisquit as the base. But the designs were applied to the flat surface of the bisquit by craftsmen, using a squeeze bag of clay slip to"hand draw" the design on the tile. The raised ridges formed by the dried squeeze bag clay slip created dams used for applying the glaze. True squeeze bag tiles are more desirable as they are not a mass produced product, and would show more variability from panel to panel. True tube lined tiles were also ususally produced in smaller quantities. Each tile will be bubble wrapped. Sandwiched in Foam, and the entire panel crated for shipment. I have been collecting art nouveau tiles for more than a decade, and am downsizing my collection. This panel is one of my favorites and in all my years of collecting I have only seen this design once, and bought it immediately. It pains me to part with something of such beauty and rarity.

This is a German two tile from early 1900's. It is one of the prizes in my collection. But since I am moving house I am paring things down. It is in excellent condition and the design is featured in many German publications, it is beautiful example of Brutalism, machine age design. 19C. Mintons China Works HP 12" x 6" Tile Castle Ruins Original MOP Frame
Here is an exquisite 19th century tile from Mintons China Works- handpainted in muted tones with a castle ruin along a riverbank with rocks and a tree in the foreground. All enclosed in original black and gilt frame with a row of embedded Mother of Pearl pieces, creating a wonderful iridescence when hit by light. Tile is 12" by 6" Total dimensions are 15 3/4" by 9 1/4" Condition of tile is very close to excellent- just some crazing- mostly to sky area(see photo 4) and minor chips to reverse edges. The frame has losses but can be probably restored. Thankfully, the MOP pieces are intact. Wonderful!
