SET 11 Antique TRENT Fireplace Tiles-Subway Art Pottery-Arts Crafts-Majolica
Available here is a set of encaustic fireplace tiles made by Trent Company. There are 11 six inch tiles with a floral/vine/three leaf clover pattern. Included in the tiles are 2 corner tiles. One top center tile and one end"L" tiles. shown in center) Beautiful colors of aqua and brown. Color change can be arranged differently if desired. Colors are much more pretty than photos depict. All of the tiles exhibit crazing consistent with age. They have very little to no concrete grout on the back. They are all marked“TRENT” on the back. When placed together correctly. The floral/vine tiles form a continuous flowing pattern. There is one tile with small chips no bigger than 1/4” near the edge. Other than that the tiles are in good condition with no major issues. THIS IS A SET OF ART NOUVEAU/ ARTS& CRAFTS FIREPLACE TILES. FROM THE NORTH ENGLAND ARCHITECTURAL TILE COMPANY. This is a classical Arts& Crafts/ Mission design. Bearing all the usual geometrical symmetry which tends to differentiate them from the more commonly seen Art Nouveau designs. Four pale sky blue petals emerge from a tube-lined epicenter and branch outwards towards a leafy surround in deep forest green. The green areas are particularly interesting when the tiles are placed one atop another as they serve to form a second interlocking pattern. They're effect is stunning- please see the last photograph of the mirror which I made using these tiles to get a better idea of how they look when placed consecutively(mirrors can be made to order also, in any size from 24"x24" upwards) Also a fabulous tile for kitchen backsplashes ... moreand available too are the pale blue plain 6x6 field tile to match the petals, should you wish to use a larger amount for applications other than your fireplace. An original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tile measuring 6" x 6" The bold design of olive-green feathers and buttery yellow buds on a rich nut-brown background has quite an Arts& Crafts feel. There are incised details- the whiplash stems and the minutely-detailed buds at the centre. Pretty much mint condition with no faults. All I can spot are a couple of slight surface scratches near the top left corner of the tile. There is faint crackle-crazing due to age. The rear is unmarked. This tile is from my own collection. Easily postable. The finished parcel will weigh around 850g-950g for a single tile properly bubblewrapped. Padded and strongly boxed. Five original(antique) Arts& Crafts/ Art Nouveau glazed wall dado/ capping tiles. Each measuring 6" x 1" in a lovely greenish teal-blue colour. Great all-over original condition. Two tiles have a chip to their front edges. One tile has a tiny chip and two tiles have larger chipped areas all on their rears on the part of the tile that is cemented into the wall(and so not seen) One tile has some small chips along its front edges. Fine background crackle crazing due to age. A small amount of cement adhering to the rears(please see detailed images) The rear of each tile is marked'P' for Pilkingtons Tile Co. England. These tiles were purchased many years ago towards my peacock tiled fireplace and hearth project and they have remained as spares. I am listing them on eBay today along with some other types of antique teal-blue ... moreglazed tiles purchased from other reclaim sources years ago and also spares from the same project. The 5 capping tiles weigh around 700g before individual bubblewrapping, then padding and strong boxing. Antique Art Nouveau Arts & Crafts 2 tile panel #1067-1068 Peacock feather MINT!
A panel of two original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tiles. Each measuring 6" x 6" Probably part of a wall scheme of repeating motifs, of which this is one. The vibrant peacock-blue and burnt-orange stylized feather reminds me of an Egyptian papyrus fan. The central leaves are a light apple-green colour, whilst the stems and outline are a light mint green. The ivory background- which looks slightly more yellowy here and there due to the pooling of glaze and the natural variation from tile to tile- is ridged and has raised scrolling tendril-like motifs. Mint condition with no faults that I can see. Three of the corners have the very slightest of grazing from fitting into furniture at the time of manufacture. There is faint crackle-crazing due to age. Please see the detailed images(taken with a camera and not my usual ... morehigh-resolution direct scans because the tiles are currently mounted onto thin hardboard with PVA glue. This is how I mount my panels before I frame them, to prevent loose tiles from slipping out and falling. The PVA is a non-permanent fix and will easily remove from the tiles. I can do this before posting if the winning bidder would like me to. In the meantime, it isn't possible to photograph the tile backs! This tile panel is from my own collection. Easily postable. The finished parcel will qualify for the Royal Mail's'up to 2kg' rates and a'small parcel' rather than a'medium parcel' if the tiles are removed from the hardboard and packed as a cube(as per the quotes below, saving around £2.50 in postage) The tiles will be properly bubblewrapped, padded and strongly boxed. antique Arts and Crafts / Art Nouveau original tube-lined 6"x 6" tile from 1906
One of the iconic tiles of the early Art Nouveau period. It's a Charles Rennie Macintosh style design bearing a registration number 425247(for 1906) A full 6 inches x 6 inches(15.4cm x 15.4cm) and a substantial 3/8 inches(9mm) thick. Remains of plaster on the back suggest it was used as a wall tile. The glaze on the tube-lining has suffered from wear and there is noticeable craquelure- but this is still a very attractive tile with four shades of green in addition to the red and orange. There is a small amount of chipping to the right-hand bottom edge and a chipped upper left corner.

antique Arts and Crafts / Art Nouveau original tube-lined 6"x 6" tile from 1890s
One of the iconic tiles of the Arts and Crafts period. It's a symmetrical design with fine tube-lined leaf and stem patterning in the white areas forming a background to the more obvious stylised green leaf and golden flower motif. Typical of the 1890s Victorian era. A full 6 inches x 6 inches(155mm x 155mm) and a substantial 3/8 inches(10mm) thick. Some small remains of plaster on the back and its overall clean condition suggest it was used as a wall tile. The glaze is in excellent condition with only light. Almost invisible, craquelure. The only damage is a chipped corner(see photo 3)

Presenting an impressive glazed landscape tile measuring 24 1/2" x 17 1/2" x 1" thick. It weighs approx. 33 lbs! Beautiful greens. Blues,brown and yellow. It came from a 1920's artsy house in Old Tampa. We are not sure of the age and have never seen anything quite like it before. It is in excellent condition without issues. There are not enough tiles to fill the whole table top so winning bidder may prefer to just take the tiles without the base and use for another project and save on shipping. Alternately, you could use these twelve tiles as a centerpiece for the table top and fill in the edges with other tiles found to match or complement these. Early 1900s Art Nouveau or arts and crafts/mission design in shades of green and brown on black. Since these were hand decorated. You can see some variations on the colors- photos were taken outside without flash so pretty true to real life with our monitor at least. Some remaining grout on edges. Antiques ceramic or tile made by the Trent tile company of Trenton New Jersey. Marked on the LOW style back. Measures 3-1/16" square x 3/8" thick. Stylized flower and leaves with geometric corners. Antique Tiles Gothic Victorian Art + Crafts 1880-1910 Minton Ceramic
A pair of antique English tiles dating from the 1880s through 1910. Marked clearly on the backs. The larger tile measures 4 in.² and is in a Gothic revival style. Free of chips except for a tiny corner chip but there is some light abrasion on the higher surfaces. The second tile measures 3 in.² and is in an arts and crafts style. It too is Chip free but there is surface abrasion as seen in the photos Both are 1/2 inch thick and have the same glaze. Great color and fantastic design on both.Unfortunately the condition issues. This is a tile from Ellison tile studios. The dimensions are approximately 2" x 2" This is a small porcelain tile made into a pin. The design is inspired by historic European architectural details.
