Up for bid are two Antique Steel Corbel Brackets that were found in a house that was being remodeled. The house dated from 1892 so these could be from that period forward. The photos show the corbels to be pink in color. However they are off white in color. These corbels are made of steel and are hollow. There is only slight surface rust here and there on the corbels; no holes from rust nor none starting. They would clean up quite well with some paint stripping material applied. These would make a great addition to a historical remodeling project or just simply a great conversation piece if added to an interior decorating project. Vintage Architectural Sage Green Wooden Corbel Wall Hanging
A beautiful architectural carved wooden sage green wall hanging corbel. Its base is a common two tier type. While the main show piece is carved with 6 rounded lines surrounded by 3 rectangular lines leading to the bottom which comes out to form a curve. There are two pieces missing at the top where a more intricate trim probably sat at one time. The top is bare revealing the true color of the wood. There are many chips and cracks in the paint, 3 missing chunks of wood, and some small cracks in the wood suggesting the this piece has been through quite a bit over time, making it a perfect decorative piece. The back is equiped with a wall hanging made of wire attatched to a sawtooth wall hanger. You could use this as a shelf as well because the top is even. The back measures 8 3/4" high x 8 1/4" wide. These 2 old terra cotta corbels are stand alone lovely just as they are- prop them up with your pretties and they will shine! Actually- they'd prop the pretties. I should say, as they are stand sturdy pieces of terra cotta clay, matching, each with a three round ball decoration on the front. Each one weighs a smidge under 5 1/4 lbs, and they measure 2 5/8" wide, 6 1/4" deepest and 5 3/8" tall. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition- no structural issues or cracks, but with lots of rustic wear to the clay- there's small chips, nicks, pits, rubs- some original ... moreto the rustic making, some not- like on the round balls of the front. Set of 2 Two Vintage Antique Architectural Gold Paint Plaster Corbels Brackets !
Hi: For your consideration here is a nice set of two(2) vintage or antique sconces or brackets! These medium to large size pieces measure a bit over 8 1/4" from the top of the shelf to the bottom tip. And the surface area of the shelf top is about 9 3/8" wide by 4 1/2" deep which is the maximum depth they would stick out from a wall when mounted. The pieces weigh close to two pounds each unpacked. They are made of what appears to be white plaster or a similar material and the gold finish looks similar to gilders paste/paint. There is a small wire rod in the plaster with a twisted piece of wire on the back of each for hanging. Both are in good condition with no major loss or cracks. Both have light to dark spots or areas in the top shelf part(3rd photo from last) and the other has several small chips and related finish loss. ... moreThe'worst' chipped area is shown in the last photo but there is nothing that could not easily be touched up. They are a matched pair, 13.5" on the long side and just over 11" on the shorter side. They are 1 1/2" thick. Each one weighs a smidge under 5 1/4 lbs, and they measure 2 5/8" wide, 6 1/4" deepest and 5 3/8" tall. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition- no structural issues or cracks, but with lots of rustic wear to the clay- there's small chips, nicks, pits, rubs- some original to the rustic making, some not- like on the round balls of the front. It is painted in a bronzed or gilded color it weighs about 8 pounds before packing.
