Up for bid are two Antique Steel Corbel Brackets that were found in a house that was being remodeled. The house dated from 1892 so these could be from that period forward. The photos show the corbels to be pink in color. However they are off white in color. These corbels are made of steel and are hollow. There is only slight surface rust here and there on the corbels; no holes from rust nor none starting. They would clean up quite well with some paint stripping material applied. These would make a great addition to a historical remodeling project or just simply a great conversation piece if added to an interior decorating project. Set of 4 Arched Victorian Farmhouse Porch Post Braces Corbels w/ Spindles - VGUC
Set of four arched Victorian or farmhouse style porch post brace corbels with turned spindles. These are solid wood and have been painted. The arched portion of all four measure 7" from the inner corner out in both directions. While the sections that mount against the post measure 10 1/8" in both directions on two of the corbels and 9 1/4" in both directions on the other two corbels. Arched sections are 1/2" wide; mounting sections are 1 1/2" wide. I can only assume that the difference is due to the fact that they were handmade for the porch and are not a mass produced product. Unsure of the age of these corbels, but most of the older homes in my area that have these date from the late 1800s through the early 1900s. While these could certainly be re-used on a porch, they would also make delightful shelf brackets or ... morecould be simply used as architectural pieces for display. This pair of antique Victorian corbels have been scraped. Sanded and waxed so they're ready for you to use to support a display shelf or book ends. This is the original paint and as the pictures show, the paint has significant crackling. Discoloration in 3rd picture is a shadow. Each of the corbels has a bracket attached to the back so if you decide to use it as a shelf, it's ready to hang. you just need to put anchor screws in the wall. Up for bid is a set of 8 or 9 pieces of architectural antique porch brackets. Also referred to as corbels, which make up 4 pairs. Each bracket spans 26-1/4" long across the soffit or frieze portion of your porch at a height of about 14-15" down from the frieze or soffit. Each bracket is approximately 1-3/4 to 2" thick and is painted with several coats of white paint. Most are in exceptional condition for their age, believed to be from the mid to late 1800's, though there are a few, which have a missing piece of wood here or there. There is also a portion of a ninth bracket, not complete that will be included, so that parts of this piece can be cut off to replace what might be missing on the others. A great start to a porch renovation or restoration project. Up for consideration is a pair of antique Victorian era wood corbels or brackets. They measure 12 inches at the base. Which is their longest side, and 10 inches up from that. These look great as they are. But if used outside, will be best preserved with a little more paint. These could be used in a variety of ways inside or outside the home. But originally they were decorative brackets for the exterior of the Victorian home. These probably date to late 1800’s or very early 1900’s. Condition is good on these for the age and use. Gorgeous ornate decorative brackets that came from a home that was built in the 70's. They are made out of some kind of metal possibly aluminum but sturdy like cast iron. Color is antique white. There is a big A with 3 other letters in a circle. One has the number 1 and 12R on it and the other has a 2 and a 12R. I was planning on using these on my front porch but went with a totally different design scheme. Here you have six corbels that were handmade and found at an estate sale. They are made of wood. A soft wood, not sure what kind. They would need a good coating of stain/primer and painted. or leave unfinished. I really love the design on these, a really nice pattern. It would look great for shelving but would need some material to fatten them up a little.
