Large 17 inch Interior Wood Corbel Pair Outstanding
This pair of corbels were carved from solid hardwood. A finely detailed acanthus leaf adorns the front with volutes and foliage on the sides. They would make substantial supports for the heaviest shelf but they also work as stand alone decorative elements. Each corbel is a large 17" x 9.5" x 7" Due to the heavy weight. These corbels cannot be packaged with other items you may win. Many items I am selling came from a furniture and designcompany that went out of business in 1997. This is an awesome. Majestic pair of corbels! I was sure at first glance they were carved wood, but upon close inspection, I noticed a resin type material under a chip. There are several small chips, but they can be touched up. The hardware is intact, and they are quite heavy. They have what looks like a feather design, along with leaves. May have originally held a shelf on an old pump organ, dresser, or dining room piece, maybe even off an old mantle. Anyway, very nice. Unique Pair of Brackets or Corbels or Finials Carved Wood
This pair of wooden ornamentation doesn't fall into any specific category such as finial. Corbel, pediment, etc. The 2 pieces match somewhat and as seen in the photo there is some variation in the color. There are some chips and scratches. Having said all that, I think they make a marvelous arch shape when positioned back to back. I think some of my more creative repurpose buyers will certainly find a decorative use for such unique items. So please check out the other two we have listed if by chance you need four. This pair of fancy Victorian corbels has a wonderful look and great detail in the design. They measure 24 inches tall by 17 inches long by 3 5/8 inches wide. They are somewhat dirty and would clean up quite nicely, or could strip them and add fresh paint. The wood is quite solid and there are no soft areas or rot. The one side looks like it was exposed to some heat, but it is only on the very surface and really did not hurt the corbels. Frame has tight fit wood joint at angle and I can see the 90 degree"wagon wheel" center piece was nailed to frame originally. Frame together measures 12" x 10" on outside edge and frame measures 1-1/8" square. In very good antique condition. Has few small gauges/chips when it was taken apart. They have varying shades of stain giving them more of a rustic look to them. They measure approximately 16-1/2" tall. The top shelf is 9-1/2" wide x 7-1/4" deep.
