Vintage Cram's School World Outline Map Roll Down Canvas Cloth Markable
Here is a nice old Cram's Markable-Kleenable roll down school map. It is an Outline map of the world with no identification of the countries. I'm not sure how old it is. But I'd guess it to be from the 1960s or so. I've included lots of pics so that you can get a really good look at it. I forgot to get the measurements of it prior to packaging it up, but I'd estimate the map area to be approximately 48" wide x 38" tall(not including the brown area at the bottom or the white area above the map) It is a No. CSU-8 map and also has a number C768 at the bottom. The roller and mount bracket are included. The spring loaded roller is a bit finnicky to operate but if you give the map a few quick jerks, it will eventually roll up properly. Up for auction is a vintage antique roll up style school type"Philip Commercial Map of the Indian Empire" Made by the George Philip& Son, Ltd, Co, London. It is offered in fair to good used condition and runs on the scale of 50 miles to 1" It is printed on a canvas material. It was recently found in the Lancaster County, PA area. This map retains its original hanger. There are several tears and weak areas on this piece, but it is a wonderful piece if you have the space to display it properly. This Denoyer Geppert school roll down map was published in 1956. It has 5 maps. The maps are printed on a sturdy canvas feeling paper. It is in very fine condition. There are no tears. And it is in proper working order. The maps are attached to a beautiful well made wooden frame. The only imperfection can be seen in the second picture. The ends of the map are discolored from age. I have this official Hearne brothers polyconic projection map of greater Omaha and all of Douglas county with Council Bluffe Ia. Its a large roll up school type map. About 60 x 45 in. I cant find a date but looked up some of the RR lines and it can be no later than the early 60s Its in pretty good shape been used a bit dirty and is missing the holding clamps so its just the map it has the wood rod with the mounting pins just no brackets. This vintage school map is in beautiful condition with only a little yellowing on the edges. There are no tears or bad spots on the map. No copyright date can be found on the map. But I believe it to be from the 1950's. Early grants and orgins of the 13 colonies and voyages, discoveries, and claims to 1610. The metal hanging bracket at the top of the map is 55 inches long. The map itself is 85 inches tall, and 51 inches wide.

Very rare and original. 1876, Broadside Centennial Printing of the Declaration of Independence in facsimile issued as an Advertising/ Promotional Item by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. This outstanding Broadside Printing is titled at the top"1776-1876/ Centennial Memorial/ In Congress, July 4 1776, the Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America" and measures approximately 14 1/2" by 19” The Sheet is mounted on lined and rolled on a wooden cylinder in the manner of a Roll-Up Map of the period. The Broadside features a facsimile printing of the Declaration of Independence with the facsimile signatures of the signers at the bottom left and advertising/ promotional text for the B&O Railroad at the lower right(see the scans below) There is also an ink hand stamp at the upper left hand corner that reads ... morein part"Balt. Ohio R. R. The Broadside is copyright 1874 by James D. McBride and was published by the Columbia Publishing Company of New York City. This very rare and attractive. Centennial Broadside printing of the Declaration of Independence is in very good condition- generally clean but with scattered light foxing and a stain in the margin at the upper right hand corner. Although the Broadside was mounted on linen in the 19th century it was never varnished or shellacked as was usually the case with Roll Maps of the period. There is some wrinkling to the surface and some light edge wear but no major damage and no repairs. With a quality matting and framing the Broadside will display very nicely. Offered here is the original and exceptionally rare. 1831 edition of this highly important map of the United States that was published as the country stood on the verge expanding westward to the Rocky Mountains in the years leading up to the Mexican War. The Map depicts the continental United States west to the Rocky Mountains and includes the farthest west boundaries of the possessions of the United States. Besides the extensive land mass identified as the“Missouri Territory” The map includes a large ... morearea identified as“Internal Provinces of Mexico” which a large and somewhat ill-defined land mass identified as“Texas” This important and very early. American Roll-Up Wall Map is in good condition only but is an excellent candidate for restoration and conservation. The Map features hand colored decoration and the water color wash is dark and quite very well preserved. The surface of the Map does have a very old, age toned varnish coat(likely"as issued" and the surface exhibits significant, horizontal cracking with some associated paper loss as can be seen in the scans below. There is some paper loss in the upper portion of the sheet as well as come loss in the area of the cartouche. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the content and condition of this exceptionally rare and early, Wall Map of the United States. This rare and important Roll-Up Wall Map is an good candidate for a professional repair and restoration.
