This is in decent shape. There is some foxing on some of the pages. The book is 10.5" x 15" There is where on the edges on the hardcover. There are some paint splatters onthe cover as well. Meaning that they could be removed as a single intact sheet. The maps have a single fold in the center. The maps are high quality lithographs with tasteful and appealing colors. The maps are printed on one side only. Condition These maps are very good condition. The maps themselves are clean and bright. There are a few marks in the margins of a few of the maps. This will be evident in the scanned images, which are high quality and unedited. The maps are untrimmed and are suitable for framing. Remarks The quality of these maps surpasses that of most, if not all, its American-produced contemporaries. These maps are much nicer than any of the Rand McNally or Cram's ... moreAtlas editions I've seen. For the 55 maps covering U.S. states, I haven't seen better maps anywhere. The maps are also very detailed. Many states are treated on two separate maps.

Offering a magnificent 1934 German Der Grosse World Atlas with 24 beautiful hand colored detailed maps all in German. The atlas measures approx 14" X 19" but some of the maps pull out to 46" and many of them are fold out. All of the maps are in great condition except for the"Afrika" map which has two minor crease tears that have been taped to prevent further damage. I could only post 12 photos but have photos of all of the maps. Please remember that I do not grade my items and you are bidding on what you see in the photos. Antique WORLD ATLAS Spruner-Menke Circa 1880 This beautiful atlas is appr. 19.5 x 16 x 2 inches. It weighs about 16 pounds! It is three atlases on one; the third section is dated 1880. So we are guessing that is the approximate date of publication. The leather or leatherette cover is labeled ATLAS ANTIQUUS. Spruner– Menke. On the front and on the spine. The ends sheets are nicely decorated. The atlas is actually three atlases. Reprinted and combined into one volume: The first section has a title page in Latin. And all the maps are labeled in Latin. The title page is undated; it reads(roughly) Ancient Atlas. Work of Karol Spruneri, Third Edition, Theodorus Menke. A foreword has 12 half-width pages; the first one is in Latin. And the rest of the text appears to be German. There are 31 full sized plates in this section, showing the known world ... moreat the time. The second section appears to be all in German– you can see the title page in the pictures. It is dated 1855. It has another 12 page(half-width) introduction and 18 full-page plates. The third section is also in German. And dated 1880– the title page is shown. The introduction is 42 half-width pages, and there are 90 full sized plates. Condition: The covers are in good condition for their age. But worn at the edges, with rounded corners and slight damage at the ends of the spine. The back cover has separated from the spine for a few inches at the top. The pages have split apart at the spine in two places, so there are are a small section and a larger final section that are separated from the rest. Interestingly, the separations reveal hand stitching of the signatures. There is some smudging on the flyleaves and on the edge of a few pages. The last page of the first foreword has a corner torn off; other than that, the pages look complete and good. The maps proved difficult to photograph; they actually are sharp and clear.
