It may be from the 1960s?? The paper/ canvas map itself is not in perfect condition. There is ceasing and tares on the right side. The plastic overlay that contains the borders and names of the countries is in good condition. It is attached to a wooden roller. It measures 51" x 75". I have the metal bracket it was on if wanted. This is a three-layer map set produced by Nystrom. The three layers include a map of Texas(map number INS42) A map of the World(map number INS99) and a map of the United States(map number INS1) The map of Texas is on top, followed by the World map, and then the U.S. map. The map number for the set is INS991. I'm not sure of the exact copyright. But I believe it is around 1990. This map measures 53 inches high by 65 inches wide. It comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. This map shows a little bit of wear from general classroom use. But overall it is in great condition. There are some rips on the outside of the map, but these do not go all the way through the map. They only appear when the map is rolled up and are not noticeable when the map is pulled down. ANTIQUE PULL DOWN MAP SET IN BEAUTIFUL OAK CASE Set of 8 World Maps- Unrivaled Series 1 State Map of Kansas An amazing pull down map set in a beautiful oak cabinet. The description of the maps follows and I have photos of all maps. This is a beautiful Oak Cabinet with a nice set of 9(8 matching) pull down maps. There is one state map of Kansas that does not belong to the series. It appears to be quite old, but has no date that I can find. The remaining 8 maps are from a series titled"Unrivaled Maps" and include: North America, South America, Asia, United States, Africa, Europe, Western Hemisphere and Eastern Hemisphere. I have not been able to find a date on these maps but I believe they are ... moreearly 1900's. I will try to describe each of these as best I can and I have many additional photos that I have available to send to you if you are interested. The oak case measures 47" in length. 18" in height and is 4 1/2" deep. It is quarter-sawn oak and is well made and old. The front of the cabinet is hinged and opens to display maps and allow them to be"pulled-down" Each map is held in by a pin on one side and a slot on the other. The front of the cabinet has hook and eye closures on both side and a lock on the front(which I do NOT have a key for) It is a beautiful cabinet and is excellent condition. Maps All 9 of the maps are in used condition. None are pristine and several are in bad condition. I believe of the 9 I would rate 3 as being in good. 3 in fair and 3 in poor condition. The North America, Asia and United States maps are in good condition with areas of fraying along the edges and bottom, creases and soiling and some minor tears. This is a 1967 Denoyer Geppert World Physical and Political Map. The map section measures 63" wide by 40" tall. The spring loaded roll up bar is there but not the frame that holds it. This map has just awesome vintage color. There are plenty of small holes and wrinkles but they have been clear taped over and the map still displays fantastic. Look at the pictures closely and you will see the major flaws. I want to be honest and say that if you are looking for a collectors grade map this ain't it. But this is a really bright. The one of the world shows the political boundaries of each country and the United States map shows the states and their capitals. It's in very good used condition. The backside of the map does have some marks but they are not readily visible when the map is installed as they are on the back and top of the roll. There are a couple of small(1/2” or so) marks on the front of the map which might be possible to remove buy the winning bidder. The third and final thing is there is a small quarter size tear in the bottom of the lower map near the wood. It is an easy repair with strong clear tape on each side of the map. This vintage Denoyer-Geppert classroom wall map has great beachy colors and a bold graphic look. And just to make it even more wonderful, it's written in French. I couldn't find another example online in a Google search, and I don't know how old it is. The map depicts the Greek world of ancient times, and is in good vintage condition, with creases, wear, a few small tears, and minor soiling and discoloration. It illustrates annexations of Europe by Hitler and Mussolini to Sept. 1. 1939 The second section shows Europe in 1953. Illustrating the Atlantic Pact Countries and"Iron Curtain" countries, along with occupation zones of Germany and Austria. Full printed color lithography. This amazing map is 48 inches wide x 74 inches tall. Bracket increases width to 54" wide. Scale is 84 miles to the inch. There is some moisture damage on the bottom. Mostly visible on the reverse. The map has been removed from the roll up mechanism– it has a woodenrod on the top and bottom. There is some damage to the map edges.
