Its ring, and on the stand. The ... morering is marked in latin representing the zones of latitude etc. The stand has the signs and names of the zodiac and the dates that they represent. The globe measures approximately 4 1/2" in diameter. The stand is approximately 5 3/4" square at its base and 4 3/4" tall. The globe is mounted on a wooden ring that fits into the stand to rotate on its axis. The ring is approximately 6" in diameter and 1/2" wide. The stand is notched so that the ring and globe fit into it securely. The globe has a long metal pin that runs through its center allowing it to spin. The globe slightly moves up and down on this pin and it may be necessary to move it very slightly to the center of the pin so that it rotates freely. Please examine the photos carefully so that you get an accurate idea of the globe's condition and what you are bidding on. This globe is really lovely. I have 2 Pflueger Globes. They are both white with red head. The top lure is 3 5/8" long and has the spring loaded head with surface hardware. There are a couple of scuffs on the lure and some age cracks. The bottom lure is 2 3/4" long and has the neverfail hardware. The varnish has turned yellowish. I have tried to get good pix of both sides to show condition.

Vintage Antique Desktop Olde Old World Globe Italy 8 1/4"
This is a vintage or antique old world globe. Recently purchased at an estate sale. I am unsure of it's age. It is marked on the bottom Olde World Globe Made In Italy. In very good, used and vintage condition, it has a wooden base and brass hardware. Measuring about 8 1/4" tall, it will make an attractive addition to any room. Vintage 9" Cram's Imperial Terrestrial World Globe Cardboard
This is a very nice small 9" Cram's Imperial cardboard globe made in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It has a cardboard globe mounted on a gold painted base and half meridian with nicely joined gores. It has a metal time dial(looks to be aluminum) And the cartouche reads"COPYRIGHT THE GEORGE F. CRAM COMPANY, INC. INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, MADE IN THE U. S. A. I dated this globe before 1991 because Zaïre's name was changed to the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1997, and Morocco is generally accepted to have ruled the Western Sahara since 1991. Also, fifteen nations were established from the former USSR in 1991. As far as condition, the paper and cardboard construction of the globe are fine, and the paint on the metal components is in very good condition with no oxidation.
