Nystrom School Map. 16 Maps Total Very Hard to Find Set of Maps U.S. History through the Civil War Here is a list of the maps included in this auction. They are all on the same roll, this includes the metal wall mount and you flip the maps over the roll to display the next map. This item is used but still in good condition, I did not see any rips or tears at all. This is a markable map that you can use water soluable ink with. There is one map that has two light blue circles where the previous owners marked the map and did not wipe away the ink. The circles are about 1 1/2" or so big they are faint but can be noticed. This is a three-layer map set produced by Nystrom. The three layers include a map of Texas(map number INS42) A map of the World(map number INS99) and a map of the United States(map number INS1) The map of Texas is on top, followed by the World map, and then the U.S. map. The map number for the set is INS991. I'm not sure of the exact copyright. But I believe it is around 1990. This map measures 53 inches high by 65 inches wide. It comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. This map shows a little bit of wear from general classroom use. But overall it is in great condition. There are some rips on the outside of the map, but these do not go all the way through the map. They only appear when the map is rolled up and are not noticeable when the map is pulled down. It includes 2 overlays, one is blank. Maps are in excellent condition with no tears or significant damage, colors are bright. one overlay has some marks on it that may or may not come off, the tape that held the US map to the Alaska map has lost its adhesion but a new strip of tape will fix the problem easily. The very bottom section of the Alaska map has some slight age darkening, wrinkling and flaking. Map includes wood pole but does NOT have the mounting bracket or hardware. The map.along with some items in my other listings. was acquired from an old school that is being razed. It meaures 43" wide by 64" long when full retracted. The roller is in fine functional condition and will allow for the map to either be fully pulled down or fully rolled up. Imperfections include a small tear in the lower left hand corner and lower right hand side. The case is 47 inches long making the map about 44 inches. The roller is copyright 1901. No other copyright dates on the map, it does have Utah and Arizona so after 1912. The bottom part of the map has damage as shown in photos: this can be repaired. It does have the canvas type of backing. This could be a great map with a little TLC. Shipping will be $15.00

This is a map produced by Nystrom. The map does not have a copyright date. But I estimate it is probably about 10 to 15 years old. This map measures 65 inches high by 72 inches wide. It comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. There are three layers to the map. They include: 1. Texas(Map#1PS42) 2. World(Map#1SR991) 3. United States(Map#1SR1) This map shows some minor wear from general classroom use. There is a very small tear on the World map on the left-hand side at the very bottom of the map. A"Pictorial Relief with Merging Colors. by"Thomas F. Barton, Indiana University Editor" and"Clyde F. Kohn. University of Iowa, Social Studies Consultant. The copywriter is"A.J. Nystrom& Co. a" Division of Carnation Company. Chicago, Illinois 60618" and based on my limited research I believe this map was issued in 1958. The Bonne's Projection Scale is 1: 7,000,000(70 Kilometers to the Centimeter/ 110 miles to the inch. The Horizontal scale for the mountain ranges is the same as the map, the vertical exaggeration is 50 to 1. In addition to the central map of North America and its Oceans. Three smaller maps located along the bottom show annual rainfall. ... moreDistribution of people and land utilization. The map is 43 inches wide and 63 inches long and is mounted on 3/4 inch diameter wooden dowels at its top and bottom. The wooden dowel at the top is attached to a 47 inch long. 1 1/2 inch wide, gray metal bracket for wall mounting. The map pulls down. Locks in viewing position and retracts smoothly and easily. It is made from heavy weight. Glossy paper, that is suitable for use with water soluble markers. The map's surface is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. Its colors are bright and all labels are easily read with no fading, no tears, rips, stains, discoloration and no pen or marker residue. The only very minor imperfections are a small 1/4 inch long. Worn area, along the blue border. 2 1/2 inches from the bottom of the map, a small 1/4 inch long break in approximately the same spot on the opposite side of the map and some wear to the varnish along one side of the bottom dowel. Please see the accompanying pictures. My guess is that these are the result of wear from the bottom roller over the years. What you are buying is a Nystrom Pull Down Map Of Africa. It is used but in fine shape. The map is about 6 feet long and about four and a half feet wide. The Map is a classic and what you will find is that the map has three layers. A bottom geographic map of Africa, then a clear plastic sheet that one can write on and erase with a dry erase marker, then finally a third layer which is another clear plastic sheet with the outlines and names of the countries and cities of Africa. Old colorful vintage 1941 school map. Large size of the world physical-political, edited by V.C. Finch, Professor of Geography, University of Wisconsin, Equatorial Scale, 1:25,344,000 of 400 miles to the inch. Van der Grinten Projection. Published by A.J. Nystrom& Co. Chicago. This map was cut and mounted on oil cloth so it could fold and was portable and it has metal brass grommets on the top so it could be hung as was typical of the time for classrooms. Neat old one. VINTAGE 16” NYSTROM CULTURAL RELIEF GLOBE MAP 39-47 GYRO-DISC STAND Offered for your consideration is vintage 16” Cultural Relief Globe from Nystrom division of Herff Jones. Inc. It comes with the gyro-disc stand. Over-all the globe is in great condition from having come from a school environment. It may have a little fading from sitting in the sun and one or two small scrapes but nothing that is very noticeable. For shipping the globe will be taken off the stand but it is only two washers and one lock nut that holds it in place so this should for the buyer to reassemble. The one of the world shows the political boundaries of each country and the United States map shows the states and their capitals. It's in very good used condition. The backside of the map does have some marks but they are not readily visible when the map is installed as they are on the back and top of the roll. There are a couple of small(1/2” or so) marks on the front of the map which might be possible to remove buy the winning bidder. The third and final thing is there is a small quarter size tear in the bottom of the lower map near the wood. It is an easy repair with strong clear tape on each side of the map. The surface of this map measures about ... more65" across and is about 53" tall. It also includes the built in mounting bracket so it's ready to install.
