Really nice original lithograph print signed and numbered by Claude Casati. An artist that is beginning to receive popularity. There is an article on the back and a statement of authenticity. Very original and beautiful litho. number 191 out of 275. Original frame is nice also. By the way. There is no damage to item. The dark areas are my shadow when I took the pic. Each Rubbing is a Hand Made Original This is a hand made rubbing. Using gold,silver, red and blue wax crayons on special black rag paper. This beautifully decorated woodcut is based upon a design from the Book of Durrow, written in the late 7th century. The Book of Durrow was composed at the monastery of Durrow in Ireland, which was founded in the 6th ... morecentury by St. Columba. The decoration consists largely of pages of interlace patterns. Each of the four Gospels begins with a decorative initial, preceded by an illuminated'carpet' page, such as the one on which the design was based. I purchased these charming(4) wood framed prints at an antique store in Denver. The original 1 1/4" wide wood frame looks like it is made from a soft wood such as pine and is finished in scarlet red paint with a faint sepia brown glazing. The glass is free of cracks and chips. The overall frame size of each print measures 6 7/8" wide x 8 7/8" tall. These are German peasant themed prints on an ivory background of hardpressed paper board. Other than that. I don't know anything more about them.

This is a gorgeous framed 21" x 9.25" antique Chinese silk sleeve panel. This was made for a lady's robe in China. Though many were often sold in Western nations as doilies. This particular piece was made between 1890-1920. The embroidery is absolutely breathtaking, both in the central part of the piece and on the surrounding'matte' which contains light floral impressions. This collectible framed print is from a circa 1920s-1940s furniture store called Watkins Art and Furniture Store. That was located in Bridgeport. Connecticut during its heyday. The gold frame has some seams on each side. Top and bottom. Please review the photos. The edge of the glass inside the round frame looks like it is uneven which may be how it was made. It is not visible unless you shift the glass away from the frame. The gold frame looks hand-crafted since there are imperfections and seams. Picture has the original aged backing and store label.
