But it has never been ... morefolded, so there are no fold lines. A Rand McNally"Map of the World" sticker is covering the original Cosmopolitan Series label, so perhaps it was overstock that was re-branded. The odd thing is a small Atlantic Records sticker in the middle of the compass point graphic. Perhaps after some changes in the names and borders of some countries the map became obsolete and Atlantic picked them up- cheap and in bulk- for some promotional campaign. A world history expert could probably estimate the date based on the geography of the time. I don't know if this map was mounted on a wall back when it was new, but it has no staple holes or other signs of being affixed to a wall. There is impact damage and wrinkles around the edges, and mild wrinkling throughout, but no stains, rips or holes. Still in good condition, it looks great and has not faded over the years. I found it in a box lot of items purchased at an estate sale.everything in the box was from that time period. It doesn't appear to have had much use.maybe looked at a time or two and then folded up and stored away. There are no tears but does have creases from being folded as you can see in the photos. As Israel is recognized as a country; serial number is A-510000-215-7-8-9-16AP. The ruler in the photos is a YARDSTICK. The map measures a whopping 52" w x 33 3/4" H. In full color. Coated laminated paper with some rips along the left and right edges. A few pin holes from thumbtacks. On the upper right hand corner. The map has started to separate from the plastic header. There are 2 small metal loops from the top header from which to hang the piece. In good condition despite it's age. Not too many wrinkles.but always rolled, never folded. On the other is a large map of Manhatten with smaller maps showing the location of the fair at Flushing Meadow etc. the guidebook is 5 x 8 inches and 280 pages. I kind of assume from reading some of this that we hadn't been there yet so I assume this is from the mid 1960s give or take. When unfolded this is about 26 1/2 X 19 1/2 inches.
