Tiles have not relief and have surface printed designs with naturalistic. Geometric images on them, colors are firm and well defined. These tiles are very suitable for a charming home interior decor, casual, romantic feel. English country style emphasizes coziness and our relationship with nature. These are the tiles to choose if you want an air of both distinction but also as fresh as a country cottage done in garden florals. ITEM DESCRIPTION Very attractive tile. Drawn in sepia transfer printed, subtile flowers and thorny tails, a perfect abstraction of a victorian garden. STYLE: Aesthetic(Late Victorian) TECHNIQUE: Manufacture: Dust pressed clay tile using a mould& horsehead ... morepress. Then burned. Decoration: surface printed designs. ORIGIN: England Either George Woolliscroft& Son or T&R Boote. MARKS: Each tile has a characteristic factory background some factories used stamped logos on reverse. DIMENSIONS: 6x6 inches each tile. Thickness of biscuit depends but usually is 0.33 inches aprox. APPROXIMATE DATE: Between 1890 to 1910 ITEM CONDITION This tile is in very fine condition. No flaws or repairs exist. Cement on reverse was carefully removed so minimal traces are remaining. Surface, as you can see, has a firm color and smooth glaze surface. Only minimal scratches and tiny chips may be seen, most of them on edges but that is hidden with grouting when reinstalling. Nothing for a more than 100 year old architectural piece. If you are buying many of them and you want a picture to have a look of the general condition no problem to supply. But image shown is well representative of tiles you will get. Description This is a very attractive glazed Victorian tile. It is printed in brown and cream with an Aesthetic style design of Sunflowers. I do not know the maker. The Tile has a small nibble to the glaze on one corner and a chip and nibble to the edge on one side. Please see the photos. No cracks or restoration, the glaze on the top of the central Sunflower has been unevenly applied and has not covered completely. Description This is a very attractive Victorian Mintons 8" tile. It is decorated in dark red and gilt on a white background with a Gothic style geometric pattern. It dates to the Pugin era. Around 1885. Tiles in the same pattern but different colours are illustrated in the Minton Catalogue of 1885( Pats 609& 1801. The Mintons mark is on the reverse. The Tile has some small chips to the surface on the edges, commensurate with age and use, a chip to the base and side has been filled.There is some crazing to the top and some wear to the gilt decoration. SUPER VICTORIAN MINTON `DRAGON AND CHRYSANTHEMUM` ORIENTAL STYLE TILE
This tile was made by the Minton China Works. Stoke on Trent. It has an oriental theme with 3 roundels. The top roundel has prunus blossom and fruit, the central roundel has a stylized chrysanthemum and the lower roundel has a dragon. The tile is 6 inches square and is printed in shades of green on a white ground. It is in good condition. The back of the tile is shown in picture#2.

The tile is in the gothic revival/early Art Nouveau fashion of the time and was probably designed by Pugin. It is certainly in the style of Pugin. It could be used for a variety of decorative purposes including possibly a teapot stand. The tile is good display condition for its vintage bu t there are some chips and worn away areas to the edges and corners as shown but these do not greatly affect overall appeal or display. Description This very attractive heavy glazed Victorian tile was made by The Campbell Brick& Tile Co. Stoke upon Trent. The makers name and trademark are on the reverse.The Tile is decorated with a Gothic style pattern in yellow ochre, black and white. There is a small paper label attached to the tile with the number 129 on it. I do not know if this is a re ference number for someone's collection or if it has other significance so have not removed it. The Tile has chips and nibbles to the edges of the top surface no restoration or cracks.
