I have owned this piece for over 25 years. I bought it at a house sale, i do not know its history or maker, the tile is done in an impressionism style, there is a parrot across the top, his tail goes down right side, there is a horse& rider, riders head looks out of porpotion being large than horse's head, done in a Majolica glaze type finish with a very uneven tile body. There is felt covering back. Size is 9" high x 5 1/2" wide. Background is Blue. Edges are primative& not glazed, thanks for looking, no chips or damage, i have never sen one anything like it. A rare original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tile measuring 6" x 3" This lustrous and vibrant emerald green tile has three large. Raised, spear-like buds in an unusual khaki colour, with glorious little sky-blue forget-me-not flowers peeping through behind them. Virtually mint condition. When turned to a strong light source, the very slightest of surface rubbing is visible along the extreme upper and lower edges, and even less so to the high central points of two of the buds. Fine background crackle-crazing due to age. The rear is marked: A.M. ENGLAND' 6' and has a rectangular arrangement of 6 raised dots. This tile is from my own collection. Easily postable. A very special original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tile measuring 6" x 6" The design features a very stylized clear sky-blue flower with reflexed petals and swirling. Whiplash khaki-olive leaves against a bright caramel coloured background. This tile is in virtually mint condition. I have struggled to find any faults at all. Being extremely pedantic, I have detected a rub to the raised pattern outline 1/4" long, close to the centre of the tile, but you have to look for it! There is faint background crackle-crazing due to age. Please see the detailed scans. The rear is marked'A1' A.M.Ltd' ENGLAND' and'5' with some stamped wording in black that isn't fully legible. The rear is so clean that it looks like it was never used. This tile is from my own collection. Easily postable. And then decorated in majolica glazes- The design features a wonderful colourful swirling motif of flowers and foliage! Where it gets VERY Unusual though is on the Verso- Where you would expect to just see the standard plain Gibbons Tile back. Infact what we have is this: A stunning blue Ghost image of what appears to be Pansies and Moths! This really did have us stumped for a long time. An unusual original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tile measuring 6" x 6" I have never seen this design before in over 15 years of collecting Art Nouveau tiles. The soft apple-green flowers. With reddish-brown centres, in white spade-shaped cartouches on light turquoise stems look just like pairs of jellyfish propelling themselves through water(or is it just me? The plain quarters are a glowing peacock-blue/emerald green. Great overall condition. Some rubbing to the high pattern outline, two tiny pinhead sized underglaze nicks and small a physical chip on the extreme edge of the tile at top left as shown. Background pale yellow/ cream in colour decorated with an unusual blue design outlined in dark grey/ black featuring a bow and a line of shapes below that look like stylised harebell flowers. Antique Art Nouveau Tile Children Grayish Blue Framed 6x6 VERY UNUSUAL Muster
Up for sale is a really unusual and beautiful antique art nouveau fireplace tile. This subject matter looks like 4 children holding balloons? I've never seen a scene quite like this on a tile of this age. Absolutely guaranteed to be antique and original. It is framed in an original oak frame. The tile measures 6x6 inches and 7 3/8-7 3/8 inches framed. The tile is crazed. There are no chips to the front-2 small chips on the back(one where a small nail holds the tile in the frame) These do not at all show from the front and do not reach to the front of the tile. The tile is stamped Muster 4123D. It also appears to have a makers mark/name stamped into the rear but I cannot make it out. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Thanks.

This stunning tile was made by Henry Richards. Stoke on Trent around 1907. The moulded design is made to appear tube lined. The design has a highly stylized flower and leaves on a green majolica ground which is slightly irridized. The tile is 6 inches square. There is a tiny spot where the pattern has missed on the top of the flower this is glazed over. An example of this tile is illustrated in `Art Nouveau tiles with style` by Robert Smith page 44# 264.
