This is a beautiful blue and white transfer printed tile decorated in the Arts and Crafts manner. It was made around 1880 by Minton Hollins. Stoke on Trent. It has a squared repeating pattern with stylized sunflowers and leaves. It is 6 inches square and in good condition, there is some slight discoloration to the bottom right corner of the tile and there is a tiny nibble on the bottom right corner. Minton Hollins blue white tile Chinese oriental hunter shooting Beaulah Bonhams
This is an unusual 6 inch Minton and Hollins tile which is decorated with a blue and white chinoiserie scene of an oriental hunter shooting ducks. It has been cracked across the middle and expertly repaired. There are also a couple of small chips in the top right hand corner This tile comes from the G K BEAULAH tiles sale at Bonhams on 25th January 1995. Many had stickers. This one sadly does not. Ken Beaulah was author of Church Tiles of the C19th and a founder member of the Tiles and Architectural Ceramic Society. He began collecting whilst still at school in York. His collection of tiles was all meticulously accessioned. Photographed and documented in a two volume personal catalogue. He is an important figure in the study of architectural tiles. SUPERB VICTORIAN MINTON HOLLINS BLUE AND WHITE PICTORIAL TILE `THE SHIPWRECK`
This is an unusual Victorian tile made by Minton Hollins. Stoke on Trent. The central circle has a maritime scene of a dismasted sailing ship in a heavy sea. This is printed in black on a cream ground. The surround is printed in blue and white and has a basketweave effect surrounded by a rope. The tile is 6 inches square and in good condition. There is some very slight roughnes on the odd edge. The back of the tile is shown in picture#2.

Dutch scenes became popular in England in the Edwardian era and verso is later Edwardian period but without England suggesting that it was intended for the home market. A most unusual manufacturing technique from Minton Hollins as the body is made from plastic(wet) clay rather than the usual dust pressed clay. 4 ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MINTON HOLLINS BLUE& WHITE FLORAL CERAMIC TILES These lovely antique tiles have a blue and white decorative pattern and were made by Minton Hollins of Stoke upon Trent England. The tiles are in good condition considering their age. One of the tiles is missing part of its top left corner and all the tiles have some minor nibbles to their edge. All of the tiles have various levels of tile cement still attached. As visible in the photos. There is also some crazing to the glaze present on all the tiles, but this does not detract from the quality of the decoration. The tiles measure 6" by 6" and have"MINTON HOLLINS&Co PATENT TILE WORKS STOKE ON TRENT" embossed on their base.
