It is believed to be Bristol Delft and depicts a vase of Flowers flanked by two birds looking inwards. The design of the corners are distinctive. Unfortunately there is some damage around the edges and mainly at the top where there are chips from the left hand side along to the right hand corner where there is a nibble out of the corner. Reclaimed early 20th C Vintage 6" Dutch Blue& White pattern tiles. Delft style These tiles were reclaimed from a Dutch building in the early 1960's. They are printed. Blue and white pattern, off white background, measure 150mm square and are 9mm thick(6" x 3/8" The backs are machine marked and are stamped with the capital' H' This probably means they are no older than circa 1890/1900. All are complete i.e no corners missing etc. There are small amounts of grout to some of the edges which depending on future use will need to cleaned and some very small chips to some of the edges. And 1 6" diameter round decorative plate. My Mom probably picked these up in Holland in the 80's when she went to visit my brother. She hung them on the wall in her dining room and probably never used them as trivets. They are in good condition. But have some fading due to age. No cracks, no restorations this tile has been used and therefore has very slight damages on the sides. Caused during the removal- please see the picture Historical Contents of Dutch Delft Blue Tiles Delftware wall tiles. Typically with a painted design covering only one(rather small) blue and white tile, were ubiquitous in Holland and widely exported over Northern Europe from the 16th century on, replacing many local industries. Several 18th century royal palaces had porcelain rooms with the ... morewalls entirely covered in porcelain in tiles or panels. Surviving examples include ones at Capodimonte, Naples, the Royal Palace of Madrid and the nearby Royal Palace of Aranjuez. Between 1640 and 1800 Chinese porcelain was most successfully imitated in Delft. Vintage Pair of Delft Blue tiles- Belgium
VTG Belgium Delft Blue Tile Dimensions 4 3/4 X 4 3/4 inches For your consideration we offer a pair of original Belgium Delft blue tiles from the late forties. It was manufactured possibly by the factory of George Gilliot in Hemiksen/ Antwerp. Belgium, but decorated by hand in Holland. The factory was founded in 1897 by George Gilliot in Hemiksem. As floor and wall tile factory, with John Salt, a ceramic specialist trained at Sèvres, as technical director. At the turn of the 20th century, the firm saw rapid expansion with a working force reaching nine hundred personnel in 1913. The last tiles were produced there in 1978 and the company was closed down by Sphinx Maastricht in 1985( the information is taken from the website of the British Museum in London) Nicely glazed surface. This is a square Delft tile. In mint condition. It is four incher square, with no chips, cracks, or dings. It depicts a windmill and house on the pond. The windmill is surrounded by reeds and little inlets with trees in the background. The original sticker is still on the front. The back has markings in the tile, one is a G within a wreath, another has a series of numbers(24, 17, 6, and a 2 on the bottom line) This is a nice vintage tile.

The design is a delicate swirled floral. The blue has a flowed appearance. I also have some in the same pattern that are more distinct) These tiles have a hole in the center. A screw was inserted through the hole to attach the tiles to the metal stove. They are square. Measuring 2-3/8" square X 9/16" thick. These are old and were removed from the stove so have slight imperfections from their intended use. They will make a beautiful backsplash or trivet. They could also be mounted in a custom frame with knobs attached through the screw holes to make a nice jewelry or hand towel rack. Central design features a young boy who has just thrown what looks like a ball for a(very faded) bird of prey which is perched on one arm. Blue decoration to each of the four corners of the tile. Approximately 5 inches by 5 inches. Unpacked weight is 290g. Unmarked base. Condition. Overall very good. Crazing plus chips to edges and all four corners. Very little of the bird of prey left!
