This piece is made of a heavy. Ceramic-plaster mix. It's now painted crisp white, heavily distressed for the aged and worn, shabby look, and then tiled. I used glass tiles on the"wall" and pebbles at the bottom. The nest is made of straw and the eggs of paper. The tiles have been grouted and then sealed for protection. Although it looks like it may have been a fountain of some kind. I don't believe it was as there are no holes in it for the water to run through. it measures 9 3/4" side to side. 3 3/8" front to back at the base and 14 3/4" high including the birds. This is a wonderful Victorian tile with an illustration of two humming birds in flowers and foliage. It is well coloured with hand finished enamels. The tile is 12 inches by 6 inches and is in good condition. There is a small chip on the bottom edge near to the left corner and another at the top right edge. There is also some light crazing and a small stain near to the lower bird.None of these detract from the overall appearance of the tile. There is no makers mark. See picture#2.

Duran Mallorca Spain handpainted wall tile birds on a branch in metal mount
Delightful hand painted tile from Duran. Mallorca depicting two birds on a branch. It comes in a metal mount which has been cleverly made to look like a bird's cage and finished off with scroll designs. There are some minor chips to the back of the tile where it has been mounted but there are no cracks or damage to the front surface. There are rust spots commensurate with age and use. The tile measures 14 cm tapering to 11 cm x 14 cm. Including the mount it measures 31 cm x 20 cm. It weighs 500 g unpackaged.
