Probably late Victorian The t ile is 6 inches by 6 inches Th is is reclaimed and h as small imperfections as a consequence of being a totally authentic pre-used antique/vintage piece. There is a small amount of residual grout on the reverse. There are extremely small chips to the rim. Probably imper cept i ble once refitted. I shall ship with My Hermes. Antique Bird Tile Fireplace Garden Botanics Victorian Glazed Salvaged Salvage
A wonderful victorian fireplace tile. Earthenware clay hand painted and glazed fireplace tile. 6" square x 1/2" thick. A pair of darling sweet little birds sitting on the branches of a vine. Colours of burnt sienna and ginger. 2 fine lines of burnt sienna border the tile. The surface has a 3 tiny chipped dots. zoom in to see these) but these do not take away from the charm of such an object. Perfect to stand on a mantel or on a shelf! The Victorians were fascinated with all things botanical. This tile is no exception of a good 19th century study!

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PROVIDENTIAL TILE FIREPLACE SURROUND portrait tiles
The sale is for this gorgeous antique tile surround that was made by the New Jersey Providential Tile company in the late 1800's. The picture is a shortened version of the surround. There are quite a few more of the mottled tiles. It is in good condition and is comprised of the 2 corner portrait tiles and the rest are 6x1.5 inch and 3 x 1.5 inch tiles. Very few or none of the mottled tiles should need to be cut for the surround. There is some residual mortar and the portrait tiles have a few edge abrasions(please see closeup pictures) The most common surround would be 30" high and across. If you need more tiles for your fireplace surround I can flesh out this design with the mottled tiles. I have many antique tiles listed.

This one features a typical Victorian floral pattern with a slight European taste to it. The tile is in good condition with only a few little chips/nibbles to the edges. There are a few heirline scratches to the center and other chips to the reverse mut nothing major. The tile measures 15.3cm x 15.3cm x 0.8cm. 2" Antique MINTON HOLLINS& CO Fireplace Relief Tile 1860-1890 Victorian Moulded This is a lovely little tile from Minton. Hollins& Co. Circa 1860s-1890s. It is a brown/taupe relief tile from a fireplace. It features a pretty pinecone-like design. This tile bears an impressed circular insignia on reverse: MINTON, HOLLINS& Co. Inside of the circle is the number 2I2 with EB beneath. There is a P outside the circle on the right bottom corner and a X sign in the lower left corner. In 1845. Herbert Minton took Michael Daintry Hollins into partnership. And the tile-making side of the business became known as Minton Hollins& Co. Herbert Minton's successful experiments in making encaustic tiles during the 1840s( Encaustic tiles are ceramic tiles with a decoration made of different colours of clay inlaid into the surface. A ... moremethod originally produced in the middle ages) this had put him at the forefront of a huge industry supplying the requirments of institutions, churches, and domestic interiors all over the world. Please scroll down under this description for additional views. Two Victorian era 6" tiles from a pictorial fireplace surround. Both embossed A. E. TILE Co. LTD on the back. Bas relief facades, one tile shows a bearded man's head against an arched doorway and the other tile shows a foot on the top step of a stairway partially obscured by foliage. The mottle glaze has a bit of brown and a bit of pale celadon green against a white background- there is a bit of a rainbow luster to the surface. Both tiles have cement or grout on the edges and the glaze is crazed on both. The"foot on stairs" tile has glaze lose and chipping on the edge and a chunk out of the back. The"man's face" tile has chipping along the edge and a glaze chip on his forehead. Here is a set of 10 Victorian fireplace tiles they are 6" square and in good used condition. Some of them carry a date diamond and the name"Greatbatch" which could be the design or maker, an obvious William Morris influence in the floral designs. Low start and no reserve. They look more pink than brown in one light and then more brown than pink in another light. There are 86 larger tiles measuring 3" by 1.5" and just under 1/2" tall. There are also 34"half" tiles measuring approx. 1.5" by 1.5" by 1/2" tall(some are slightly larger) While I attempted to give them a thorough cleaning. Some still have some residue on them. Antique Art Nouveau 6 inch fireplace tile. Depicting Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired roses. It measures approx 10mm in thickness, and has no maker's mark to the back. In very good condition, with no chips or cracks, and a clean reverse. There is some heavy glaze crazing, and some surface scratching and scuff marking to the glaze.

27pcs Beaver Falls Antique Ceramic Art Tiles Chain Victorian Fireplace Majolica
lot of 27 turn-of-the-century antique art tiles made by the beaver Falls Art tile company of Beaver Falls. Pennsylvania. The tiles are marked on the backs.They Each measure 1"x 6"x 0.5" thick. Geometric pattern in pale shades of yellow creme and blue-grey. Beaver Falls tiles are scarce and project group rarely comes around. These are in very exceptional condition. Most are nearly perfect. There are three in a separate photo that have chips of note, the other 24 are all shown. The backs have been cleaned of all mortar and grout and these are ready to install. Original Antique Floral Daisy Majolica Fireplace Tile Brown White Victorian
Superb hand painted daisy flower tile c.1890. A slight relief to the face of the tile. The colours are bold and striking and blend beautifully on the foliage and background. Brown. Green, orange and cream. Bright clean and interesting majolica. Some light scratches and grazing to right hand edge. Reverse fairly clean. But some residue remains. Square grid grip pattern. 6" square x 3/8th" thick. I have one more of these. And many others for sale, and am happy to combine postage costs.
