I have up for auction a J. Chein& Company Tin Litho 7 1/2 inch globe. I am not certain of it's age but it is probably from the 1950's to 1960's. The globe spins freely and the colors are bright. It does have some minor rusting. There are a couple of small scratches and the base has something on it near August and September(please see picture) I did not try to remove whatever this is for fear of damaging the paint. This globe is in overall very good condition in vibrant colors and vintage style. There is one spot where the paint was removed with a sticker that was peeled off. But no landmarks were affected. There are a couple small dings and the top peg that holds the globe in place was replaced with a screw that can't be seen unless the globe part is taken off. It is still sturdy and turns nicely. The globe and stand measure about 12" high.

But we believe that these could be removed by an instrument that would suction them so that they pop back. But even with the dents, this is a fun item. The base of the globe has the marks of the zodiac on it. The entire globe is 10" high. The base is 6" in diameter, and the circumference is 20" In tiny letters where Antarctica is displayed we found the name and location of the manufacturer: the Ohio Art Co. Bryan, Ohio. We can date this globe by the names of cities and countries. For example. Modern day Korea was called Chosen in the late 1920s. The globe dates from approximately 1928. The spin arrow shows a bit of wear as can be seen in the pics. Bottom tag says it was made in Italy. No date that it was made. I haven't been able to find another one exactly like it. No Reserve Vintage Old World Wood Desk Stand Zodiac Ring Globe- Made in Italy This piece measures about 8" tall and 6 1/2" in diameter across the ring with a base that is 5" square. The globe rotates and can be removed from the stand and placed in at different angles. The piece is in very good condition.
