The silver colored rail with the degree marks on it is made of metal. The metal stand the globe sits in is in good condition. No cracks. Splits or missing pieces. Donavan and the Cartographer was Kevin M. Dzurny. The Vibrant colors of the continents against the midnight blue waters is very unique. In addition. This globe is a raised-relief. Globes with raised relief better emphasize the mountainous areas of the world. They are there so that you can see and feel the mountains although their actual height on the globe does not have any relationship to the true relative heights of the mountain ranges. It is a Replogle World Nation Series 12" Globe by LeRoy M Tolman Cartographer; the globe has a raised relief textured style depicted accurately the higher mountains. Etc. The globe sits in a wonderful bronze type metal frame. It is mounted on a magnificent carved mahogany base with 4 legs- check my photos. It is a vintage world globe but the frame and base make this appear to be an older antique. It stands about 36" tall in total; the base wood part along is 20 1/2" tall; the legs are 11 1/2" square and 15 1/2" across. This globe has excellent relief and the cartographer was Gustav Brueckmann. The globe is vintage. Not sure what year but has U.S.S.R. and Syria is a United Arab Republic along with Egypt. It features a metal stand made to look like faux wood. It is 12" across. There are NO dings or dents in the metal and the globe itself is in excellent vintage condition. Vintage Replogle Raised Relief 12" Floor Globe (ca. 1979)
Very nice 12 inch globe on wooden floor stand with three feet. I base the date of 1979 on information I found about the model of globe but mainly the names of countries from the time. It is a World Classic Series. Raised relief which adds texture to an already beautiful old globe. It also denotes LeRoy M. Tolman as the chief cartographer. It has been in my mother in laws office since purchase in 1983, and now kept in our living room. It is in excellent condition and has been well kept. Posted with

Vintage Art Deco 1980 12 inch Rand McNally raised relief political globe
For sale is a vintage 1980 12 inch Rand McNally raised relief political map globe with atlas book. The color on the globe is bright. All of this is in the original box. The globe and book are in excellent condition showing little wear. I don't think they were ever used very much if at all. The base of the globe is metal and it is in excellent condition without any dents or rust. This is an excellent vintage globe and atlas that would be hard to find in this excellent condition.
