Antique Replogle Light up Illuminated World Lighted Library Globe Table Stand
Replogle Glass Lighted Library Globe This Globe will no longer be used by us and is deserving of a good home in its present original condition which is super considering its age. It may look similar to others. But It is an earlier model than most out there. It may be a pre-WW II model. Original finish as pictured. There are a couple extremely tiny chips in the map itself, one up close photo shows its size is as small as a letter in the word Indonesia above it. It would touch up with a marker and would not have to be mentioned, but I want to point out the even the smallest imperfections. If this globe wasn't original and extra nice we wouldn't own it. The finish and teture is crazed as it should be and is still very tight and firm all over. There are some very minor nicks in the wooden stand; none are significant or hurt the piece ... morein value or charm. The crazing in both the wood varnish and the map adds beauty and character to the nature and richness of the globes age. The stand is also very strong and firm and not weak or ever broken or repaired. The original factory paper friction reducer washer on the bottom of the globe between the metal discs Where the light switch is attatched to the harp is still present. It is torn and rather than throw it out we have just kept it there. I plan to ship this in 2 boxes. Stand and globe seperate from each other. The paper is nearly useless and slips back and forth as the globe is picked up or moved so it may slip out slightly when shipped. You are bidding on a vintage Rand McNally 9 inch Terrestrial globe on a metal stand. Both the globe and its stand are in great condition for their age. With some light blemishes in spots from use. Additionally, a bit of the equator sticker is gone, I located a puncture south of the Hawaiian Islands, and there is an area of rust along the edge of the stand. The globe is colored an antiqued off-white/beige and is made to look like ancient parchment. Located around the globe are sketches of famous explorers' ships. I've spent some time looking up various geographic points on the globe, trying to determine its age. As near as I can tell, it dates to the late 1930's. It does not have Israel defined as a state, so pre-1948; it does not have Germany divided between East and West, so pre-1945; it has Istanbul instead of Constantinople, ... moreso post-1930; Persia had been renamed Iran, so post-1935; I cannot locate Austria, which was annexed in 1938; and, finally, Poland looks whole, and it was siezed and split up by Germany and Russia in 1939. I have for sale an original terrestrial globe by makers J Forest of 17 Rue de Buci Paris dating from the latter part of the 19th Century. It is in pretty good condition a couple of flaws as detailed above but this is a item which was meant to be used. So therefore some sign of use is to be expected. Replogle 12" Globe Light Lamp World Premier Series Antique Style Alabaster Stand
This vintage globe light is in excellent condition and has no damage or issues that I can see. The globe is topographically enhanced and quite beautiful with an antique look. I've shown photos of the bulb you will need to buy for this lamp. The one that was in it burned out and I only had the other small round bulb which doesn't fit through the hole in the bottom. Replacing the bulb is easy. Just loosen one screw and pop the globe off the stand. The cord with the inline switch is in excellent condition, as is the base. I thought it might be marble, but I believe it is alabaster. The brass colored attachments are shiny and in excellent condition as well.

This is an Antique 19th Century Globe on Original Wire Stand. It is 9-1/2" high and 6-1/2" wide. There is no manufacturer or date. But based on style, countries, and age characteristics, I believe this to definitely be an original 19th century piece and not a reproduction. There is expected age wear with some staining, discoloration, and only a few small areas with wear in the paper. The original wire stand is in great condition, holds the globe well, and sits on the table without falling over.
