This Globe of Distinction is handmade taking approximately 6 weeks to produce. Semi-precious stones are selected from countries around the world and where possible depict the country of origin. The colors of the ocean are created from crushed Lapis Lazuli. The globe is then buffed and polished before the meridian and date lines are added with a fine gold thread. The wording is then added and the globe is sealed in a resin bath giving it a protective coating. The center of the base has a working compass. The globe is 8 1/2 inches wide and with the brass stand it is 12 inches across and 14 inches high. Reflections are visible due to outdoor photography.
