VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE 1948/1949 METAL WORLD GLOBE
Auctioning is this Great Collectible Vintage World Globe. I've researched this Globe and it appears to be from the 1949-1949 year. It is all Metal with a white hard plastic degree bar. I have not tried to clean/shine this globe as it takes away from its value. The circumference is 29 1/2 inches. The circumference of the base of the Globe is approx. 20 1/2 inches. The height of the Globe with the stand and degree bar is approx. 12 inches. Due to its age. It does have some wear to it. There is some fading, as I've tried to show in the picture and also a couple of dents in it. I've also tried to show that in the pictures. I found this, plus other globes at an auction recently. For your consideration: One vintage Ohio Arts Tin Globe marked: MADE IN U.S.A. THE OHIO ART CO. BRYAN. OHIO 984E183. It has the attractions of the world painted around the base. It measures approx: 11 1/2" high x 9 1/2" wide and is in exceptional vintage condition. Perhaps a few minor surface scratches at base of the globe but zero overt dints. Dings or damage(use the zoom feature to see to condition) The colors are bright and vivid. Interestingly. Korea is shown as divided into north and south but Vietnam is not. Vintage GOTHIC Mixed Metal HANGING Weighted WALL LIGHT LAMP Adjustable ORB Globe
Here's a vintage GOTHIC Adjustable HANGING Weighted WALL LIGHT/LAMP. Made of mixed metal. This is a pastel pink color(even the cord) Turns on and off via a pull chain hanging from the bottom of the light. Not sure of the age but my educated guess is the 1950s. This is mounted on a wall and has a vertical and horizontal arm with cloth-covered cord going through it that connects the light to the electrical outlet. It has a large weight that holds the globe in place as you can pull on it to lower it and then push it back up to raise it. The arm reaches out about 14" from the wall and the whole thing can then rotate 180 degrees left or right. The orb measures about 9 1/2" in diameter not counting the top and bottom finials. With top and bottom finial it measures about 14" This looks like wrought iron but a magnet does not stick ... moreto fleur-de-lis parts. The center band is iron as are the screws. Bolts and bands holding each section together. In the center is a cylindrical parchment cone that covers the light bulb. This is 7 1/8" x 4" in diameter. It has a"burn" spot on one side. A few scuffs and scrapes in the paint. Cord got a little dirty when I took the photos, and the aforementioned burn spot on the inner cylinder. Overall condition is very good. Up for bid is a Vintage Ribbed Glass Globe& Chrome Plated Metal Wall Mount Soap Dispenser Nice vintage item in overall good used condition. The glass globe is ribbed but it's hard to see in the pictures. No chips or cracks in either the glass or the metal wall mount bracket. The glass globe is clean with no chips and even has tiny air bubbles to show the vintage of the glass. The chrome plating on the metal bracket has scattered pitting and/or bubbling but overall not bad(see pictures) In good working order. Other than some yellowing of the glue where the equator line was glued on this globe looks brand new.Whoever had it all these years took excellent care of it. The base and rotating axis are heavy duty powder coated metal. The globe is unique in the fact that all mountainous regions are raised on this globe. This globe is extremely detailed and beautiful to look at. This would be a fabulous addition to any home library or office. Couple small scratches on the front, but that's minor. Totally usable. Comes with a FREE broken cork on inside of thermos. Reminds me of a thermos grandpa used to take to work. So. 2 Vintage 70's Heavy Cast Metal Glass Globe Torchier Light Wall Sconces NOS
Heavy cast metal arms and what looks like brass bases. These lights are new old stock and have never been used. They have been stored since the 70's. They are 14" tall. 6" wide, 5" base and stick out 7 1/2" from the wall at an angle. There are some tiny spots where the paint is missing. The swirled dot glass globes are approx. 6" with a 3 1/8" O.D. fitter. It doesn't say what bulb wattage to use, but it says 660W 250V on the sockets. I used 60W. They need to be hard wired and the mounting hardware is included in the original package. PLEASE USE THE ZOOM FEATURE TO CHECK THE CONDITION. Insurance is included with shipping.
