The base shows very light wear and looks great. The globe surface is in nice shape with some wear evident and some light stains. I have photographed it both illuminated and with flash to show the condition. It has a fabulous warm glow to it unlike some of the newer ones. There is one spot a little less than a half inch of paper loss on the globe as shown in the pics. It is in Antarctica near the very bottom and is very hard to notice when the globe is oriented normal. Otherwise the globe surface is very good vintage. The globe spins and rotates on axis and has a two position dim and bright setting. This is a great piece that glows beautifully. You will love it. Shipping will be free but will cost me $200. This is a oversized item and essentially a piece of furniture. I am actually loosing money with this free shipping price but I want to make this cool globe available to buyers. ANTIQUE LIBRARY BUREAU GLOBE 2 DRAWER OAK INDEX CARD CATALOG CABINET. Description. Antique library index card file cabinet. This item is made of solid tiger oak and is very heavy for its size. It is a very well made piece as you can see the drawers and cabinet itself were made with dovetail joint construction. Both drawers are missing their adjustable stop– The front of each drawer has solid brass fixtures– drawer pulls and label holder. The brass front label reads“T.R.P CO. G-18" See photographs. The cabinet is in excellent structural shape although esthetically it is far from perfect revealing stains. Discoloration and scratches consistent with wear and age. This is a hard to find light up globe by Replogle. Most likely made in the 1950's. In very good condition. I have not tried to clean this. There are several small superficial scratches that do not detract and the glue that holds the globe together is slightly yellowed. There is also a small dent near the Replogle logo at the Pacific Ocean. Measures about 17" tall from bottom of the base to top of the arm. The base holds a 9" x 3/4" thick book. Total base measurement is 6" x 9" The base and arm are metal in a copper/goldtone finish. The globe lights well. And the cord is in good shape. I am selling this as is. Shipped insured. The cord has a heavy iron weight on it which allows you to easily set the height of the globe to any desired position. The fitter has an on/off switch. Replogle Glass Lighted Library Globe This Globe will no longer be used by us and is deserving of a good home in its present original condition which is super considering its age. It may look similar to others. But It is an earlier model than most out there. It may be a pre-WW II model. Original finish as pictured. There are a couple extremely tiny chips in the map itself, one up close photo shows its size is as small as a letter in the word Indonesia above it. It would touch up with a marker and would not have to be mentioned, but I want to point out the even the smallest imperfections. If this globe wasn't original and extra nice we wouldn't own it. The finish and teture is crazed as it should be and is still very tight and firm all over. There are some very minor nicks in the wooden stand; none are significant or hurt the piece ... morein value or charm. The crazing in both the wood varnish and the map adds beauty and character to the nature and richness of the globes age. Beautiful Replogle 10" Library globe, lighted with walnut desk stand
Here is the very fine Replogle 10" Library world globe. Lighted and in the wooden stand that you see. Dating from about 1950, it is in remarkably good condition with solid gores over glass, only the most minor dings to the surface, and just a few bits where the interior light comes through a seam. The dating is confirmed by the presence of Israel, West and East Pakistan, Indochina, Korea as a single country, and all of the colonial names of the African states. The globe features a complete heavy brass meridian, a time dial at the north pole, and the oceans shown in pea green. The walnut stand is also excellent. Very solid with four turned legs and stretchers. It measures about 13" in diameter, while with the globe in place, measures about 14" H. The globe weighs about 7 lbs. unpacked. I have a Replogle globe from around 1935 or 1936. It is a"Diplomat" and the cartographer's name is Gustav Brueckmann. It stands four feet tall and has a beautiful wood base. Tanganyika, and French West Africa are some of the dated country names. This globe spins on a metal stand and has the original tag which tore off the base during transport. This globe was found in the attic of a former teacher in Memphis TN. Attics become very hot here and this is reflected in the surface of this globe. The colors have faded and there are some chips and cracks at the seams. The metal base also shows some spotting and evidence of age. The Globe spins on the stand well and the information on the globe is quite readable. Replogle 20" Heirloom/Statesman/Diplomat Vintage Illuminated World Library Globe
Offered is a vintage Replogle 20" illuminated globe. I see not date but from the looks of the switch and ac plug I would say early to mid 1970's. This globe with walnut base is in very nicely cared for shape. The base shows very light wear and looks great. The globe surface is in nice shape with some wear evident and some light stains. I have photographed it both illuminated and with flash to show the condition. It has a fabulous warm glow to it unlike some of the newer ones. There is one spot a little less than a half inch of paper loss on the globe as shown in the pics. It is in Antarctica near the very bottom and is very hard to notice when the globe is oriented normal. Otherwise the globe surface is very good vintage. The globe spins and rotates on axis and has a two position dim and bright setting. This is a great piece that ... moreglows beautifully. You will love it. Shipping will be free but will cost me $200. Hi. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Globe Wer. Co. library catalog file cabinet/box. I believe it is made out of Tiger Oak. All the joints are dovetailed. This was an estate find. I have done nothing to it-no polish or Old English. It is a beautiful piece of History and would make a wonderful addition to someone's personal library! All the drawers are made to fix 3"x5" index cards and they all are still in fine working condition. Electric illuminated glass globes were produced for only a short period, from the late 1920’s to the late 1950’s, when economically more affordable and less labor intensive plastic replaced the glass globes with hand mounted paper gores. However, within that short period some of the most spectacular globe models had been produced, including this one. Hand mounted paper gores over glass sphere. The lighting is located inside the globe, attached to the base. A light switch is located on the base. The map offers fine details with black oceans and attractive bold colored political border outline. With only a few very minor surface abrasions(see pics) no chips or cracks or dents, all original with no repairs to stand or globe. Wood stand is in lovely light brown wood with turned legs and turned cross stretchers, is a beautiful stand with 4 turned wood stretchers which are joined in the center and support the bracket onto which the globe turns. The bracket is metal and is also undamaged and straight/even, it is marked in numerical increments. The globe revolves on this bracket easily and properly, the globes revolves on its axis from right to left and left to right as well as up and down on bracket as bracket spins on its wood frame in notch. On top of globe is a dial which indicates A.M. and P.M. time zones(

Up for auction is this really nice vintage library card cabinet by Globe Wernicke from Cincinnati.It is a 2 drawer unit. I don't know when it was produced. It still has a paper label on the inside of the cabinet that has the makers name and the stain number. The drawers have dovetails. The cabinet does not. There is a small strip of the veneer missing on the back panel of the cabinet at the bottom approx. 1/2' wide see photo no. 5. It also still has the catalog brass medallion on the side see photo no. 6. It has been refinished at 1 time or another. But seems to still be it's original color. It measures approx.14' across x 16 1/2' deep and 5 1/2' high. The drawers are in good solid condition and good working order. Please ask questions before bidding. Payment is due 7 days fro closing. The globe is constructed of 12 hand applied coated paper gores over pasteboard. Time dial at North Pole and is mounted in a die cast full meridian which rotates 360 degrees in cradle. Handsome highly detailed surface with oceans finished in blue green with International Date Line, ecliptic and large analemma with note of explanation. Nautical distances shown with small ships, transatlantic routes shown with ocean liners, also Indian Ocean coastal routes. Shows Great Chinese Wall with some topography. It can be dated to circa 1936 as Persia has become Iran(1935) but Italian Somaliland is not yet part of Italian East Africa(1936) and Burma is still shown ... moreas part of India(until 1937) Shows the Saar region in Europe. Which voted in 1935 to return to Germany, an independent Austria and intact Czechoslovakia. In Asia. M anchukuo is shown with its earliest spelling"Manchutikuo" Chosen is Japanese and French Indo-China in Asia. Cast metal full ring meridian in full mount with horizon ring supported by three curved brackets atop a walnut Duncan Phyfe style four-leg pedestal stand. Overall height 36.5 inches. In good condition and nicely toned. There are some losses and rubbing at the South Pole pivot. Time dial is warped. Surface is faded and worn in a section of the mid Atlantic. In the same area the seem has slightly opened and a section of the gore has lifted and crinkled but is intact. A small sliver of the seem is missing off the coast of Liberia.
