Up for bid is a very unusual lamp- it is a world globe. The blue tag reads"Underwriters Laboratories UL Portable Lamp Issue BC 16 969" On the back of the globe is the scale. The words"Replogle WORLD HORIZON Series. copyright"Scan-Globe A/S GB" among other information. The plastic globe/lamp stands appx. 16" high, appx. 39" around the center, has a wood base and a 6 foot long cord with an off/on switch. The cord will only fit in an outlet one way. The globe/lamp is in excellent condition. I find no dents, no marks, etc. It works, as you can see by the pictures. It only has one problem-if you turn the globe to the left, it squeaks- when you turn it to the right, it doesn't squeak. I strive to give my customers a 5-star performance. Has the ability to adjust for different latitude and longitude reading so that when it is on it will put a spot on that location in the world. It works fine and is approximately 16 inches tall. The glob e itself is considered a 12 inch globe. The wood is a medium color closer to a dark than a light color. The globe itsel f is a beautiful antique white color and is outstanding when turned on. There is a brass name plaque on it but I am sure it can be removed or maybe a new one can be added with your name on it. It is one of the fines ones that I have seen. I only s ee a couple very minor scratches on the wood st and. I se e no peeling or scratches on the globe itself. I am offering a vintage 1985 World Scan Globe made in Denmark by Karl F. Harig. Cartographer. It has a lighted globe that also features a Pinpoint Spotlight and being able to move it and place it on any location on map by adjusting the Latitude and Longitude dials. The rotating portion of globe is approx 12" it stands approx 17" tall, base is approx 8" in diameter and all in like new condition. I purchased this new and was on desk for a very short while and has been safely stored for several years. My one picture shows close-up of paper on base bottom, it is the instructions for changing the light globe. The colors on the globe are more outstanding in person than my pictures show. This is a neat older lighted globe marked'1980 SCAN-GLOBE DENMARK CARTOGRAPHY by KARL-F. HARIG 1988 GB' The base is made of wood and has a THERMOMETER-BAROMETER-HYGROMETER in it. It lights up and there is a directional spot light inside. It measures 12" wide and stands 17 1/2" tall. Everything is in very nice vintage condition and is free of damage to the globe. For Auction: 1980 Lighted Scan Globe A/S Denmark from 1991 Has a wood base with 3 dials- temperature- humidity and braometer- They appear to work just fine. The light works well. There is a dial which can move the light so that the point of the light shines at a specific spot on the globe. The only thing that is wrong with it. Is that the globe does not mount on the base very well. I think a bracket or mount broke off at some point in its life. Looks like someone tried to glue it back on. Of course, if you glue it back, you can't change the light bulb. The electric cord has been mended as well. International buyers- sold as is please. Vintage Scan-Globe A/S. Made in Denmark, Light Up Spot Globe This is a 1987 Scan-Globe made in Denmark. It is known as a World Spot globe. The original copyright date was 1972. The cartographer was Karl F. Harig. This is a really cool globe. It lights up beautifully and the base contains two dials. One for the latitude and one for longitude. You simply dial in the latitude and longitude for whatever location you desire and a pinpoint spot of light appears on the globe to highlight that location. See the third picture in which Zambia has the pinpoint of light to highlight it. The legend shows different land types by color. Such as forest, tundra, snow and ice, etc. The globe is done in the visual relief style which features ocean currents warm and cold, land& ocean topography, city populations, international and other boundaries, and much ... moremore.
