Here I have a vintage Hammond world globe Light.The globe is about 12" and is marked Hammond Scan-Globe A/S Denmark 1972 A/S Edition 1983.Cartography:Karl-F.Harig.The learning globe is in good condition with some wear.The last picture shows that it was scotched taped on the United States.North America,spot many years ago from the previous owner.I had enjoyed this globe for many years,when on display it lights up just great.The only reason I'm selling it is because my husband for my birthday bought me a very large globe that also lights up nicely.The paper on the globe is loose in spots but doesn't seem to effect it,it has also been like that for years and has never caused me any problems.The globe light you see pictured is the one you will receive.Thanks for viewing my auction.

It has a painted cast iron stand and base. Which is marked on the bottom with the manufacturer. It stands 15 inches tall and is 9 inches in diameter. It is a very nice example of a 9 inch"Terrestrial Globe" by C. S. Hammond Co. New York. We tried to accurately show all sides of this globe and as you can see there are minor imperfections of age along the seam where the two halves of the globe come together. There is also a mar or scrape I've tried to show in one of the pictures on the body of the globe. We've not tried to clean or alter the globe in any way from the way we found it. I think the art deco style cast base is a really ... morenice feature on the globe. I think this is a very nice pre 1940's globe because it still shows Persia as the area now known as Iran. This world globe was rewired and is safe. Along with adding a cord to match the cord switch. An easy turn and the globe is on. A wonderful accent piece. Fun learning tool, and great night light. It stand 15" tall and the base has a diameter of 9" There is some damage to the surface of the globe- the chip visible in the photographs is included and can be used for repair. The globe features a beautifully crafted and designed art deco base. We found no date on the globe but it predates the 1940s(Israel is not present and Iran is called Persia) The globe may be even older than this as it includes steamship routes. Up for auction is this wonderful estate find 12" Hammond Terrestrial world globe with wood months ring and cast iron stand and features. This piece dates from the early 1900's most likey used in a school or college. This globe is in nice condition for surviving over a hundred years. All original parts including hardware. Wood months ring and cast metal parts. Wood ring very nice with all 12 months showing only age wear, globe has yellowing age wear and I'm not sure how to clean so I will leave this up to the buyer, also as seen in pictures there are some small area's of paper wear to globe but does not take away from the beauty and purpose of this globe. Hammond's 12 Inch Terrestrial Globe In Atlas Stand Circa 1930
An amazing piece of history. A Hammond's 12 in. Terrestrial Globe in an Atlas Stand Circa 1930. Very interesting to see how the world was divided back then. Globe shows"Principal steamship routes in Nautical Miles. Principal Transcontinental Railways" Made by CS Hammond Company in Brooklyn. Date is not marked anywhere. But it must predate 1935 as Iran is still called Persia. The worst sign of wear is pictured where the globe has sat too low in the stand and was spun anyway, so there is a wear line all the way around. However, it cannot be seen unless you get below the globe and look up. Other that that there is a small spot or two and a little bit of brown stain that could be taken off, but I am not going to try and possibly ruin the finish. This is a rare Cram's Imperial Globe that is embraced in a circle that sits atop the two opposing famous Atlas Shrugs. The globe maybe detached from its base for easy cleaning. This Hammond's"Inflatable" Globe defies its 60+ years. This model is called"The International" It holds air perfectly. Requiring slight re-inflation less than once a year! However, it is the great Mid-Century design of the stand that is the best feature. Usually you find these globes with very low(table) stands or simply none at all. In my 20+ years of collecting globes. This stand is one of only a few I have come across. Stand shows very little signs of wear or rust- also in great condition for it's Map shows Israel. French IndoChina has been renamed Vietnam(but still noted as"Fr" for French presence) And Gold Coast in West Africa has not yet been re-named Ghana(1957) All of this"dating" adds up to early 1950's! This is a 9" Hammond's terrestrial globe mounted without meridian or ferules on an elegant art deco style verdigris toned cast iron stand. Hammonds was known for its elegant bases and they quickly became a staple in many collections. The verdigris finished base is exclusive to Hammonds and was offered only during the mid 1920s to early 1930s. The globe is made from a 9 inch diameter orb which is covered by individual. Hand applied paper gores. Currents, steamship routes and political borders are identified on the map. Approximately 14 1/2 inches high. Condition is fair to good. The paper has darkened and there are some areas that are worn; there are a couple of small areas where the paper is coming loose. But not to the point of coming off. Up for sale is a C.S. Hammond& Co. Model 3036 Terrestrial Globe 9 inch model- principal steamship routes with distances in nautical miles. Principal transcontinental railways. In great shape but could use a cleaning. I will leave that to the lucky buyer. Some small marks to globe and one larger mark that I noticed(see last pic) Finish is a bit dull but cleaning may resolve that. Some soiling/wear to surface- see pictures of actual item to be received. Item sold as is. Please inspect pictures carefully as they are part of the description. If you need more. Just let me know. Antique Globe - Vintage Terrestrial Hammond Desk Globe
A gorgeous globe made of metal with paper gores affixed. Sphere is mounted to a cast metal base with painted verdigris finish. Nicely fashioned dial at North Pole. Made by Hammond during the 1920's-1930's this globe has the remnants of a local seller who placed their own marketing sticker over the Hammond Cartouche. This is not damage but common practice from the era. Size: Sphere is 10” Diameter Condition: Good with paper loss. Pitting under the paper. Displays well. All items offered as is where is. CRAM’S IMPERIAL WORLD GLOBE ON WOOD BASE WITH ATLAS This auction is for a 1993 Cram’s Imperial World Globe. It is an antique beige with rich. Bright colors. The globe sits on a mahogany wood stand which holds the Atlas. The globe is held in place by two metal brackets featuring kneeling Atlas figures. The globe rests securely in these bracket slots and can be easily removed by simply lifting it from the brackets. The globe is in excellent condition as is the wood stand. Two of the corners of the Atlas have minimal damage—most of which is on the paper cover. Also included is the“CRAM’S GLOBE ACTIVITY HANDBOOK” which has a wealth of information and also 14 Activity Learning Games on Geography.
