Superb 18thc early oak wood carved lion head corbel. From a church. All carving in relief with really wonderful stylised and expressive detail to the lion's face with mouth open and showing teeth. Measures some 4" height x 1.75" width at back of the corbel. The lion head itself extends to a depth of 2.5" Condition is excellent and age commensurate. Please see all images.
