Description This is a great pair that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. They are matching in size and design. There is nice scroll work on the sides. All the moldings are present but need nailed on. There is chippy brown paint with bare wood in places. Each measures 13.25 inches deep with moldings. 11.5 inches tall and 8 inches thick with moldings. Overall. They are in good co ndition. There are misc. light scratches and dings as they are antique. Nice older pair of carved wood corbels. Brackets, or shelf holders or whatever. An unknown type of wood, but if I were guessing, I would say walnut, has that Eastlake look. Interesting pieces of carved wood. Almost 8" long, 2 7/8" wide, and 1 1/8" thick. Have holes in the back for pegs to hold this on whatever if came off of. Has no finish that I can tell. May have originally held a shelf on an old pump organ, dresser, or dining room piece, maybe even off an old mantle. Anyway, very nice. Here we have an original pair of 1880's era ~ VICTORIAN PORCH CORBELS WITH THE ORIGINAL FINIALS ~. We acquired a total of four out of the same estate. So please check out the other two we have listed if by chance you need four. This pair of fancy Victorian corbels has a wonderful look and great detail in the design. They measure 24 inches tall by 17 inches long by 3 5/8 inches wide. They are somewhat dirty and would clean up quite nicely, or could strip them and add fresh paint. The wood is quite solid and there are no soft areas or rot. The one side looks like it was exposed to some heat, but it is only on the very surface and really did not hurt the corbels. Rare PAIR OF 2 salvaged fancy BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE OLD wooden corbels with swirls. Leaves, and barrel shapes and embellishments. Victorian feel, very old. AS shown in the photos, THIS PAIR IS 99.9% EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO MISSING PIECES! There are a few flakes of finish missing and sign of age in the finish. I have others like this also on auction on eBay. Same size, design,e tc. but the others have chips and pieces fallen off, where the glue has failed, but so far these 2 are still intact. I will wrap them very carefully, but it is possible something may come loose during transit but repairs can be made easily with wood glue if necessary. Size is approx. 4 inches by 3 inches. They measure 6 5/8" high and the square pedestal is 3 1/4" There is some paint spattering on the side, about an inch line of paint and some very slight spattering up from that. Having worked in the antique business for many years, I would NEVER mess with the finish or patina. I could easily strip this off, but so can the person who wants this, at their discretion. This pair of FINIALS are in wonderful condition. I consider them a work of art.

PAIR LARGE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE WOOD CORBELS CHIPPY PAINT
Please scroll down under this description for additional views. Large pair of architectural exterior corbels from a Victorian house. One is slightly taller than the other which is only noticeable when they are side-by-side. One is 20" tall while the second one is 20 1/2" tall. Both are 11" deep and 5 1/4" wide. Constructed from five laminated 1" thick solid pine boards. The outermost board on each side are jigsaw cut away to add design and depth, the fronts alternate the depth of the profile slightly to add interest straight on. There is such a build-up of old paint that the faces almost look coated with stucco but its just newer paint over old chippy alligatored paint. Very sturdy, these will definitely make a design statement whether you set them on a mantel, hearth or table or use them as shelf supports. Each one ... moreweighs 15 1/2 pounds so consult an expert if you intent to hang them on a wall. Minor losses to the back sides and edges. Our photos will be up by the end of the day.
