Lovely Sherwin Antique Art Nouveau Tile
15cm x 15cm Sherwin antique art nouveau tile. Stamped ORIENTAL on the reverse. The condition is not perfect. Please see the description. However, the obvious damage is restricted the the edges, the surface of the tile is a beautiful rich, glossy, smooth glaze. Beautiful Boote Antique Art Nouveau Tile
15cm x 15cm Boote antique art nouveau tile. Typical Boote reverse. Though there is a thin layer of plaster attached in some parts. Beautiful design and very nice glazes. The background is a gorgeous dark blue which gets lighter towards the centre. This seems to be a deliberate effect with this design. 2 nice rich colours in flower. But quite a pale green in the stem. As with the Sherwin tile I have listed, it was difficult to photograph without glare. The condition is not perfect. Please see the description. Imperfections mainly restricted to the edges. Antique Art Nouveau Edwardian Yellow & Green Majolica Tile - Corn Brothers ?
Up for auction is an Art Nouveau Edwardian Majolica Tile probably made by Corn Brothers. The tile is 6 inches(approx 15 cm) square. It is decorated with a stylised central image in yellow and green depicting stylised flowerheads. Stems and leaves. All on a cream background. The tile has a lovely glossy majolica finish to the surface. Unfortunately as you can see this tile has the top left corner missing. However it would display well with sensitive framing or could perhaps be used in a project where a part tile was required. Apart from the missing corner there is also a bit of minor chipping/ nibbling affecting the left and bottom edges. There are a couple of tiny marks to the surface towards the lower right corner. And a tiny dark mark below the central image towards the left. The surface of the tile has overall crazing commensurate with ... moreage& the odd scratch. Up for auction is a Majolica Art Nouveau moulded tile maker unknown. The tile measures approx 6 inches(15 cms) square. This tile has a fabulous large image depicting a single stylised flower in a deep pink/ reddish colour with a mustard coloured centre together with swirling stems& stylised leaves. The tile has a lovely glossy majolica glaze predominantly in deep green. See section above for full condition report. Please enlarge photos to see tile in more detail. It has the word'ENGLAND' embossed towards the bottom and a registration number that is indistinct towards the top. Rare Henry Richards Tubelined "Bug" tile Art Nouveau, c1907, Great condition!
This is a superb tubelined tile from the Henry Richards Tile Co with a most unusual and beautiful"bug" design. The tile has had an easy life and is in excellent condition with just a small(5mm) chip towards the bottom righthand corner(see image) There are no cracks. No stains, no rubbed highlights, and only a little age-related crazing without which this would look like a modern copy! It is however the real thing as will be evident from the back- this shows that the tile had been mounted on card using an animal based glue, typical of installation in a washstand or other piece of furniture, hence its superb condition. ART NOUVEAU TILE, PILKINGTONS OR CORN BROTHERS
Stunning Art Nouveau 6" tile. Either by Pilkingtons or Corn Brothers. Schiffer's'Art Nouveau Tiles 1890-1914' says it is Pilkingtons, but the back looks more like Corn Bros to me. Either way, it is an extremely stylish tile. In very good condition. But the two top corners have been bevelled off, presumably to fit into the back of a washstand.

Rare Antique Stencilled Art Nouveau Tile by Lea& Boulton 1896-1902! Hello! This slip stencilled Lea& Boulton Art Nouveau tile measures 6" x 6" and is in good condition with a little glaze crazing.just mentioned for accuracy of description. It's press marked"LT" and"E NGLAND" Look closely at photo 4. The"LT is to the left at the top and the"E" in ENGLAND starts at the bottom left corner. I have others where the marks are clearer but this is the tile in the be st condition. There are other antique tiles on offer on this site. Thanks for viewing this listing. ANTIQUE MAJOLICA TUBE LINED PILKINGTON TILE ART NOUVEAU c1905
An antique tile made by Pilkington in c 1905. It is in shades of green and gold on a tan background. It is tube lined and the design is typical of its era. Looks like a Rennie MacIntosh design. It measures 6 inches square and is in reasonable order for its age. The photograph shows two orange patches. These are reflections and the tan colour is even over the tile. There is about seven pinhead white marks where the glaze has come away where the crazing has been(please see photograph) The back of the tile is rust stained, where it has been attached the a cast fireplace.
