I recently discovered this tile and others while digging for antique bottles under a porch in Stockton. CA. The home was built in 1909 and was slated for demolition. I believe I had dug up a trash pit once used by the original builders just before completion of the home where they had discarded left over materials. Lot of 3 RARE Vintage PILKINGTON England Mid Century Modern Ceramic Tile. Starburst We don't have an exact date for these very unusual. Very stylish Pilkington 6x6" ceramic tiles, but the decidedly mid-century modern starburst motif puts them squarely in the 1950s to 1960s. We only have three, and we wish we had more! The gray and black on white design would fit into any contemporary interior, and they're a perfect choice for a retro ranch renovation. All tiles are in good unused condition with bright motifs and very. Very minor imperfections from decades in storage. One tile has a tiny bit of crazing to the glaze-you'd have to look very close to see this with the naked eye, and we tried to capture it in the photos to no avail, but we want you to know it's there. Tiles are marked"Pilkington 7 England" across ... morea grid on the reverse, with the number 33 at the top center. Please take a closer look at the photos. And feel free to ask any questions. Great original condition with the usual background crackle-crazing due to age which has acquired sootiness from the fireplace that it came from(can be bleached clean easily by soaking in a dilute solution of household bleach in water) The vertical craze lime at extreme bottom centre continues through to the rear of the tile as an unopened hairline crack. BEAUTIFUL DETAIL Antique Hand Painted Scenic Ceramic Tile FABULOUS - 5 3/8 "
This is a beautiful. Fun and fabulous antique tile measuring 5.3/8 inches square. I live in a victorian townhouse in the art museum area of Philadelphia. When we were insulating the walls on either side of our fireplace, we found this behind the wall many years ago. It is a funny scene of two drunken men in a donkey accident. The colors are beautiful and vivid! There is only a very very tiny bit of crazing in the bottom left which is even difficult to see. The edges are a bit nicked as you can see in the photos. Please look at the photos. I try to show everything in the photos. It is a great antique tile! Thanks for looking at my homes original tile. Antique English Art Nouveau 3 tile panel #1075-1077 Sky blue tulips
A run of three original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tiles. Each measuring 6" x 6" Probably part of a fireplace panel originally consisting of 5 tiles, but I've only ever had three. The only real sign that the original design is truncated is the small amount of sky-blue glaze right at the base of the second tile. Otherwise, the pattern of caramel-coloured leaves with their dimpled light apple-green background continues rather convincingly! The three bright sky-blue tulips are the stars of this panel, set off beautifully against the cream background.Great original condition with just some edge nibbles to tiles 1& 2, a larger top right corner chip to tile 3, 4 little surface chips each to tiles 2& 3. No cracks or other problems. There is faint crackle-crazing due to age. Please see the detailed images(taken ... morewith a camera and not my usual high-resolution direct scans because the tiles are currently mounted onto thin hardboard with PVA glue. This is how I mount my panels before I frame them, to prevent loose tiles from slipping out and falling. The PVA is a non-permanent fix and will easily remove from the tiles. I can do this before posting if the winning bidder would like me to. In the meantime, it isn't possible to photograph the tile backs! This tile panel is from my own collection. Easily postable. The finished parcel will qualify for the Royal Mail's'up to 2kg' rates and a'small parcel' rather than a'medium parcel' if the tiles are removed from the hardboard and packed as a cube(as per the quotes below, saving around £2.50 in postage) The tiles will be properly bubblewrapped, padded and strongly boxed. It is sometimes cheaper to combine purchases for postage savings, sometimes cheaper to send tiles singly, for instance to qualify for the cheapest'small parcel' Royal Mail rates and to be adequately covered to full value by the included insurance. This is a Lot of Antique Vintage Salvaged White Matte 3" x 3/8" thick Hexagon floor Tile. It can be an entire small bathroom floor. 6'X10' if you have a 5' shower. Installed in house around 1901 in the Kansas City Area. There are over 1015 field pieces plus halves. Thirds, and broken pieces for edging. 18 pieces per square foot. Total square feet is around 57 of good field tile and 35 plus feet of edging tiles. Original Bathroom was 12x17 feet. Majority of tiles were removed in good shape. These are salvaged tiles. Some will have flea bites on edges and some will have thin mortar on edges. Original spacing was 1/16th inch. Edges should be cleaned prior to installation. These are flat tiles. German four tile 3" by 24" framed in teak #411 Brutalist Machine Age RARE
This is a German four tile panle from early late 1800's early 1900's. It is one of the prizes in my collection. But since I am moving house I am paring things down. It is in fair condition with repairs and some surface dings. The design is super RARE and the design is featured in many German publications, it is beautiful example of Brutalism, machine age design. See the photo some surface crazing common with tiles from this era. I framed these because I displayed them on a wall, the edges are in good condition, and you can pop it from the frame if you desire. Each tile is about 3" by 6" panel is 3" by 24"
