Antique Vintage Mosaic Tile Company Blue Ceramic Wall Heater 1920's
This electric wall heater was removed from a home that was built in the 1920's. I'm not sure if it was working when removed. Since the power was already cut to the house. It appears that th e small filaments are broken that run through the ceramic. So I'm thinking that it would need to be repaired to actually be used a s a hea ter again. However. I have seen folks take out the heat ing element and make a recessed magazine holder out of them. There is a metal grate that fits into the openings o f these units. And it is missing on this one. The cover is made of 2 large tiles that fit tog ether. And they are in great shape with no cracks and just a few tiny chips near one of the mounting holes. There is just some discoloration from where the wire grate sat. And there is also some color variation in the glaze. These'MTC' pieces ... moreof that time had a bit of variation in the color which makes for a hand-glazed look. The f inish is matte. The chrome around the control knob is rusty. But the knob itself is in great shape with no chips or cracks. Dimensions are: co mplete cover size is 18"L X 15 1/4" W-housin g front is 17"L X 14 1/4"W-housing depth is 3" Thanks for looking. Antique Victorian tile. Circa 1900, In nice condition, it show s som e signs of age. Tile is marked"sacavem" please check pictures, color is a very dark green. Antique Vintage Subway Tile Bullnose 6-Inch Trim 'Robertson' Early 1900's
Please note: the price listed is for one piece of tile(there are 12 available for approx. 6 linear feet) All of them have crackled glaze and some staining under the glaze along the top edge(see pics) Also. Sealing is recommended if these will be installed in a wet location. Please contact me with the quantity needed and I can give you a shipping estimate. These are'Robertson Art Tile' bullnose caps. I'm not sure of the age as these were found in a mixed lot of tile. They were in business from 1892-1920, but these are most likely from the very early 1900's. They are approx. 6" long with about a 1/2" offset between the top and bottom edges. The overall thickness is 1 1/2" and they will project from the wall 1 1/2" Most have a few tiny flea-bites on the edges and/or light scratches. Overall. They are in nice ... moreshape and have barely any thinset on them for a clean installation. Any edge grout will be removed prior to shipping, they will pretty much be ready to install.
