Antique Vintage Mosaic Tile Company Blue Ceramic Wall Heater 1920's
This electric wall heater was removed from a home that was built in the 1920's. I'm not sure if it was working when removed. Since the power was already cut to the house. It appears that th e small filaments are broken that run through the ceramic. So I'm thinking that it would need to be repaired to actually be used a s a hea ter again. However. I have seen folks take out the heat ing element and make a recessed magazine holder out of them. There is a metal grate that fits into the openings o f these units. And it is missing on this one. The cover is made of 2 large tiles that fit tog ether. And they are in great shape with no cracks and just a few tiny chips near one of the mounting holes. There is just some discoloration from where the wire grate sat. And there is also some color variation in the glaze. These'MTC' pieces ... moreof that time had a bit of variation in the color which makes for a hand-glazed look. The f inish is matte. The chrome around the control knob is rusty. But the knob itself is in great shape with no chips or cracks. Dimensions are: co mplete cover size is 18"L X 15 1/4" W-housin g front is 17"L X 14 1/4"W-housing depth is 3" Thanks for looking. Victorian Antique Ceramic Tile Large IRIS 1902 - 1909 Made in England Richards
Here is a white tile with brown art work from the Victorian Era(the close up photo is closest to the actual color) It has a large picture of an Iris and its buds and leaves. It is a 6" by 6" tile. Marked England on the back. There are also numbers on the back: 5050(in red) 0, and 91. There is a piece of paper taped on the back that gives this information: H. Richards 1902- 09. The dates 1902- 09 is also written in pencil on the back. The on damage that I can see is a chip on a petal of one of the side flowers. It is the one on the right as you look at the picture. Again, please look at the close up photo to see it. It blends in on the larger pictures, but it is there. Please look carefully at the photos for the best idea of condition and design. This would look so pretty framed or as a place to set hot pans. Truly elegant! This ... morewill not be sent in an envelope. This tile weighs almost 13 ounces(unpacked) I have been asked about the high shipping fee for expedited shipping and I know as a buyer. I get shocked by those prices, too. eBay is now"encouraging" sellers to put expedited shipping as a first choice. I try to have First Class as a second choice so it seems more manageable. I put a figure for weight to cover a range of weights because the boxes weigh so much and I might find a sturdier yet stronger box in which to pack the item after I list it, so my prices can't be absolute. I do refund anything over fifty cents and I've being doing that using the less expensive online prices(quotes given to you by eBay were not online prices) I'm not sure everyone does it that way. Antique Victorian Ceramic Art Tile Colombia Encaustic Tile Co. Anderson Indiana
Victorian art tile made by the Columbia Encaustic Tile Co. of Anderson.Indiana.Marked on the back. This tile measures 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" x 1/2" thick. Central flower with botanicals in a mint green and ochre glaze. Columbia tiles do not come up for sale very often and the"encaustic" part of their name may mean that that is what they primarily produced-unglazed encaustic tiles.This tile has a"hole" at the bottom right. It was a very dark spot that I ran underwater and it slowly dissolved and left this mark. No doubt a piece of organic material that made it's way onto the surface of the tileduring production and burned into the tile. A few other chips on the right side as seen in photos as well as a few edge indents that are factory done and glazed over. A scarce tile nonetheless! 5 Antique English Art Nouveau Ceramic Tiles Dark Green Stylized Flower Majolica
5 Antique English Art Nouveau Ceramic Tiles These come from an estate we are honored to be liquidating Note: The pictures make the tiles look a bit yellowed in the lower right corners of the images. That is a function of the indoor lighting. They actual tiles are not yellowed. This lot consists of five Art Nouveau period tiles made in England. They are checkered. With lovely stylized flowers. They measure 6X6 inches. While the overall condition is pretty nice for antique tiles. They do have a few issues worth noting. There are scuffs and scratches scattered about, most noticeable in the plain dark green areas. They have the iridescent sheen that is acquired over time due to cleaning, but that is typical of antique tiles. There are a few small nick around the edges, the worst being on the tile pictured in the upper left. That tile also has ... moresome dark staining on the back. A couple have as-mad imperfections, the most notable being a spot where the glaze did not stick on a small raised bump in the center of the dark green area. Finally, they all have crazing. The last two pictures show the surfaces in bright raking light, to show the minute flaws on the surface. Those flaws are not that obvious to the naked eye under normal lighting situations. Flaws notwithstanding. The design corners are all quite nice. I think these would be great to cut out and use for accent pieces. Overall, a decent, if not perfect lot of genuine antique English Art Nouveau tiles. Offered at a low minimum bid giving consideration to the condition issues. Anatolia to Central Asia. 11th- 13th Century I.Iridescent Seljuk Star Tile 1.The Sejuks ruled from Central Asia, through Iran, Iraq, Syria south to Mecca& eastern Anatolia, during the eleventh to twelfth centuries. Several dynasties of Turkish origin created unique Islamic art forms now referred to as Seljuk art. Amongst their achievements was production of cobalt blue& luster ware potteries. Antique Art Tile made by the Hamilton Tile Works of Hamilton.Ohio. Unmarked on the back.But a well documented Hamilton design and grip back. Measures 3" x 3" x a nominal 1/2" thick. Art Nouveau styled sunflower in a deep chestnut brown glaze. Some fine,light abrasion to the glaze at center and a very light hairline scratch that can only be seen in certain light. Antique Art Tile made by the Providential Tile Co. of Trenton.NJ. Marked on the waffle back as design A-57. Measures 4-1/4" x4-1/4" x a nominal 1/2" thick. PTW went out of business in 1912. Flowers on a lattice background in a moss green and ochre(near edges) glaze.Fantastic fine.Even crystalline crazing. Crazing is inherent toi virtually all tiles of this era. Thank you for looking at our listing. We are offering for auction. A very unusual antique tile. The tile is framed in an oak frame. The tile itself measures, 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" The way the back has been sealed. I'm reluctant to open it up, but I can clearly see the tile is red, and is at least 1/2" thick. This handsome tile displays 6 different colors of hand painted tiles. There are no visible chips or cracks. I'm sorry. I'm not better informed about this piece, I have had it for over twenty years. ANTIQUE. VICTORIAN, RECLAIMED, MINTON, CERAMIC TILE Attractive Minton tile with a central bloom surrounded by a floral and scrolled design. That repeats in each quadrant, in shades of red on a cream background Back of tile. Which has five horizontal ribs, is clearly marked MINTONS over CHINA WORKS over STOKE ON TRENT over MADE IN ENGLAND. The trade mark globe is partially obscured with bonding/fixing. But it has the word MINTON in the central band and STOKE upon TRENT in an arc over the globe and WALBROOK LONDON in an arc under the globe. There is also a printed number 2663 this is preceded by a mark that is not readable. Marks probably date the tile to the early 1900’s. Tile is about 6 1/16 inches(154mm) by 6 1/16 inches(154mm) by 3/8 inch(10mm) thick Tile weighs about 15.5 oz(439 grams) The tile is not cracked. The front is evenly crazed ... moreand the top edges are in good condition. There are two narrow bands across the tile where the pattern has been locally& partially erased, but this happened during manufacture as it is all under-glaze– the crazing in the glazing can clearly be seen over the erased areas. There are also three very, very small black marks, but again these occurred during manufacture as they are under the glaze and are so small they hardly show in the photos. Back of tile is relatively clean. There are two edge chips, but one of these happened during manufacture, as it is under-glaze. Neither extends through to the front edge– see photos. Big Lot of 10.500+ Ceramic Tiles in 35 Antique Garden Boxes, Great for Crafts, or Rustic Decorative Home Projects I have more than 10.500 old tiles as pictured. They are grouped into 35 antique garden boxes. Most of the tiles are the solid charcoal/black ones that are pictured on the right side of the close-up pictures. There are also quite a few of the solid salmon/pink color(also to the right in the close-ups) All tiles are approximately 2 inches x 2 inches. You may have to clean them up a bit as they are somewhat dusty from sitting but these should make for great rustic projects of all kinds. For this count(10,500) I did not include any of the partial boxes so there are easily more than 10.5K. I am selling them as is and at No Reserve. Also included are the antique garden boxes that they were stored in. Some of them have been shot with ... moresome newer nails that you may want to remove. In order to restore them to authenticity, but the wood has lots of character, many with rough-sawn marks and varying thicknesses. Why such a great deal? Frankly. 4x4 Antique Floral Picture Tile Ceramic Majolica Fireplace Bathroom Kitchen Wall
Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of Antique 4"x4" Ceramic Floral Tiles. Wonderful. Antique, ceramic tiles salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Each tile has a picture of a yellow rose sprouting from a blue pot. Both have subtle crazing in their pictures I'm not sure if the tile was made by Minton. Meakin, Kensington, or another famous manufacturer, however, they are certainly old and good quality. Each tile still has some cement on the back from where they were removed. You could soak the back portions in water and then carefully chisel the concrete off. Or you could use a Dremel with a grind stone or cutting blade instead. One tile is as close to mint condition as could be considering it's age. And the other just has 3 small chips along it's bottom edge, which will be hard to notice once installed. Lot of 32 Various Original Vintage Antique Ceramic Cement Tiles Nice Pattern
Here is a variety of several different types of vintage tiles- different sizes and materials. The three largest measure about 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and appear to be some type of terracotta- reddish color on the underside and they say Vitromex Mexico on the underside. Tops are beautiful. A couple of chips on the back side. There are two dark green measuring 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" and 5/8" thick. A couple of chips in the corners of these two. 22 of them are all 3" x 3" square and 1/2" thick, some are a pattern of brick red and black with gray lines, and the rest are shades of grays- similar, but not identical, one is especially lighter colored than the rest. These are all in pretty good shape, a few chips here and there, and one tile is completed broke in two. Some of these smaller ones also have left over grout/cement ... moreon them. I honesly don't know if these are some type of ceramic or cement. They might be for a fireplace, but I am not sure. There are also 5 brick red strip tiles, each measuring 6" x 1" and 1/2" deep. I have shown pictures of all of the areas of the tiles, but please ask if you want me to send any additional pictures. Please ask any question you have. Thanks for looking.

Antique Ceramic Glazed Victorian Fireplace Tile ca. 1880s
Elegant Victorian glazed fireplace tile. Ca. 1880s, with raised floral and scroll patterns in mauve/dusty pink. Symetrical pattern of a center flower with four protruding buds, inbetween which are elaborate ribbon-like scrolls. Glaze is beautifully crackled- visible in close-up photo. Measures 6" square by 1/2" thick. One corner is cracked- see last photo for detail. Bottom has felt"feet" added for use as a trivet. One tile only.
