2 Antique Architectural Salvage Wooden Porch Brackets Corbels for Porch Posts
For sale in this auction is a pair of porch brackets or porch corbels for decoration next to a porch post. These are off of a 100 year old house porch that was being torn down. They are made out of wood and most of the paint is gone. They measure approximately 14 inches long on the longest side and 12 inches long on the other side. They are approximately 3 1/4 inches wide on the back side. The tallest part of the decoration measures approximately five and half inches tall. They do have wear. Some cracking, lots of cobwebs and one corner has damage more than the rest. I tried to show that in the pictures. I've had them for at least 10 years and thought I would do something with them and never have. Please email me with any questions. Shipping in the continental USA only. These epic. Architectural salvage corbels with drop finals were original to a gorgeous house on South Main St. in New Milford, CT, and were given to me by the owner about 20 years ago. They are in awesome shape; clean, no rot, solid, dry, only a few layers of original distressed white paint, so details of carving are well highlighted. Corbels measure approx. 15"x15"x4" and are about 22+" on the diagonal. I used them for a number of years as brackets supporting a large. Heavy rectangular piece of glass, which made for a unique vanity/shelf over a fab silver radiator. Antique Pair (2) Architectural Oversized Iron Corbels 45" X 45" Spanish Revival
Up for consideration is a pair(2) of cast/ wrought iron oversized corbels. They measure 45 inches by 45 inches and weigh about 175 lbs each. The top and bottom scrolling is bolted on. They have been sandblasted and primed at one time. They have some mixture of Mediterranean and Spanish Revival style from about 1910. I wish I had a spot for these in my own home décor! These are older wood salvaged corbels. They are a nice hard to find large size that are about 3 feet tall each with fabulous detailing in a very nice design. They have the original old paint that is pink with pink showing thru that are chippy. Peely and with paint loss for a perfect patina. There is some bare wood showing, especially on the back of one of them, as I show. There is some dirt and minor old cracks, but they are ... moresolid. I looks like at one time, someone cut out a few little pieces to make repairs to where there was missing wood, as I show, and did a very good job at it. One is a tiny bit shorter, due to a piece of wood trim missing on the back, which also makes that one not stand perfectly from that end at the bottom. There are also a few little areas where the pink was touched up. There are so many possibilities on how to display this, and no matter what you decide, it will look incredible! WHAT AT STATEMENT THESE WILL MAKE IN YOUR HOME! Great in any shabby chic, romantic cottage, Victorian or French country home.
