My eBay name says it all.liquidators. I was an eBay seller back in 2000 and I sold to meet a financial goal. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. So, I will be listing an item auction style and if within a certain time frame it is not sold it is going to a consignment auction house. So, if you like it, get it while the getting is good. My prices will be rock bottom due to the amount of items which need to be sold. I really am trying to liquidate my inventory but I have to admit my true passion is architectural salvage ... morework. This I can't stop doing and I just love saving these wonderful items before the elements of nature or bulldozer claims them. These four balusters came from an interior staircase in a old Victorian house in Upstate New York. Two are 31" and the other two are 27" This does not include the portion at the bottom which would be in the base of the stair. They are in great condition and just show minor wear. 2 Wood Balusters from The Salt Box and Castle Los Angeles Bunker Hill 1880s
I rode Angel’s Flight in Los Angeles as a kid and witness the dismantling of Bunker Hill. Including the moving of the Saltbox and the Castle. I have had in my possession for many years 2 balusters; one from each of those buildings. FROM WIKIPEDIA The Salt Box was a house built in the 1880s in the Bunker Hill section of Los Angeles, California. Designed in the saltbox style that was popularized in New England, it was originally located at 339 South Bunker Hill Avenue. In the late 19th century, Bunker Hill was one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Los Angeles and was the site of many elegant Victorian homes. The Los Angeles Times wrote of old Bunker Hill: Nowhere else in Los Angeles was the architecture so ornate. The mansions were wooden-frame Victorian with Gothic gingerbread touches applied with a heavy hand to simulate masonry. Though ... morenot as elegant as many of its Victorian neighbors, the Salt Box was"cherished by architecture students for the simplicity of its design. In the 1950s, the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency adopted a redevelopment plan for the Bunker Hill area. In the early 1960s, historic preservationists began efforts to preserve the Salt Box and another Bunker Hill mansion, known as the Castle. When the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Board was formed in August 1962, the Salt Box was one of the first structures designated as a Historic Cultural Monument(HCM#5) on the Board's first day of business. The Castle received historic designation in May 1964, becoming Historic Cultural Monument#27. For several years after the Salt Box received historic designation, efforts continued to find a way to save the structure while still making room for redevelopment. This sale includes 7 wooden(painted white with much paint loss and lots of chipping) Victorian spindles. Balusters, railing pieces. They measure 18" x 2 3/4" square. They are in vintage condition with some nail holes from where they had been affixed to the rest of the porch. One of them has major chipping or chunks missing(see last one in all of my pictures) Although the pictures might appear to be duplicates, I believe I took pictures of all 4 sides so you could get a handle on their overall condition. This is the last group of balusters that I have in this size so only these 7 are available from me. I will be listing other type balusters as well. None just like this. 2 Antique "1892" Wood Handrail Bannisters From Old North Carolina Courthouse
Up for bid here. Two antique handrails. I got the two rails from a contactor that helped remodel the New Hanover County Courthouse, here in Wilmigton NC. back in the mid 80s. The original courthouse was built in 1892, and that is where I am told these are from. I have no idea what kind of wood these are made out of, Cherry? Walnut? but they are heavy. The big one is about 6'3" small about 3'9"long. Both are about 39" high. Thought about replacing the half pole on the big one, with the full one from the small one and making a really nice headboard. Stylized Lion Weathered Pilaster Element Carved Wood "As Found"
Wind. Rain and sun have weathered this pilaster because it was used as a design element in a garden. We gave it a coat of wax to enliven its details. I believe it still has years of decorative use awaiting it. It is 11" x 4" x 2" This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects.

These carved oak balusters are in excellent condition: no major cracks. Repairs or issues. They have been used and show a few chips. Bumps, rubs and indications of age and experience. These are both flat on one side and were mounted against a flat surface: they are not completely round. I have lightly washed these but have not sanded or extensively worked on them in any way. They have a small fraction of their original finish. Giving them a muted, shabby but chic color tone. Being oak, and in very nice shape, they would strip and refinish with a stain to tones from golden oak to as dark as you like. This wooden plinth has a wonderful relief carved geometric pattern. Fragments such as this can be repurposed in a variety of ways. Three antique or vintage porch columns. Pillars or posts. These were salvaged from a home built in the early 1900's. I am not sure if they were original to the house. I believe that they are solid wood. They have been painted white but the paint is peeling. These are very large diameter columns. They measure about 27 inches around. They are 53 inches in height. They do need work. There is some splitting. One of the columns is missing a piece, I have the piece but it is not attached and is rotten. Architectural Salvage 75 Turned Wood Spindles with Old Peeling& Chipped Paint This is definitely a one of a kind listing- one lot of 75 small turned wooden spindles with chipped& peeling white paint. The paint on the spindles is old. Hard, cracked. On many of the spindles the paint is chipping off. Each spindle is 6 1/2" high. The spindles are like small columns with a square cap& base. The square part is about 1 3/8" by 1 3/8" depending on how much paint is on the wood. There are 4 rings in the column and a curved out part. The cylinder part of the column has a 7/8" diameter. I think these were part of the upper decoration on the gingerbread trim of a Victorian porch. But I am not sure.
