Purchased out of a barn behind the house that was holding an estate sale. You are bidding on 10 vintage baluster stair spindles. The contents of the house were being sold by the children of the family that lived there and they have no idea how the stair spindles got in the barn, how they were used or how old they are. As a result I can’t tell you much about them. If you look at the pictures you’ll get a good idea of the condition. I can tell you that there are 10 pieces all together. Eight of the pieces measure 22” long and two have been cut down to 21” in length. Of the two that were cut down. Both ends are in good condition. Of the 8 that are 22” long, one end on three of them shows some damage, which might be why two were cut down. Otherwise they are in nice shabby chic condition. These balusters have just been removed from a 1900 row house in Yonkers. NY. They appear to be solid hardwood- most probably oak- and are all painted white, but have some chips in the paint. This will require either a light sanding and repainting or complete stripping to bare wood and refinishing. Antique wood porch span spindle decorative wood work detail pieces. They are solid with no rot. They may have some splits or weather checks under the old chippy grey paint. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of Vintage Steel Handrails. What a rare find! Beautiful. Vintage handrails salvaged from Northeastern, PA. The rails are made of aluminum and the rest of the parts are steel. The tubing of the posts is hollow and the decorative motifs are cast. We didn't personally remove them. But we could see that the ends of the rails were cut off from wherever they were installed. The posts were anchored to the ground with bolts that were inserted through the base plates. Aside from small nicks and scuffs. All parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges. They are strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service.
