architectural salvaged 16 1/2 feet high vintage 1940 coumns - fluted
We harvested six fluted columns from a huge two story house in San Antonio. Price for all six is $3500.00. They are 16.5 feet tall and 11 inches wide and square. Two of them are structural. With the inside of columns have 2X8's inside for support. The top and bottom bases are pretty much there, but someone will have to redo them to get them back to original shape, due to some wood rot, but shouldn't be a big deal. I'm pretty sure a shop could have them back to orignal shape for around 1000.00,or less. There is one column that has a long seam coming apart and I am going to re-glue it and clamp it. These cost around $10,000.00 to get made at any structural building place. These are made from the nice old pine wood. Please call me if you have any questions. I can deliver for a fee. All five of these mighty rods came off one Barn dated mid-1860s. One has a finial that spins freely. Two others have half of the bottom strike indicators. They feel like plastic so I assume not original. Some of the copper line is still clutched where the rods were mailed to the roof. One rid base is broken as shown. For sale is a set of 4 matching solid brass poles used in old theaters and auditoriums. Each pole has several small screw holes where there used to be railing connecting each pole. Each pole measures 28-1/2" tall. The base is 4" in diameter. They weigh just over 4 lbs apiece and are very solid. All have three mounting holes in the base. There are no major flaws, Some light wear and patina/tarnish can be found throughout. These will polish up great if desired. Would add the perfect touch to any home theater. Measures approximately 10-1/2" high. 5-1/2" across the widest part of the shade and 4-1/2" X 6" on the oval wall mount. Protrudes from the wall about 6" at the bottom of the shade. The other is 31 inches high as shown in the pictures. Both are made to take a 5/8 inch diameter lightning rod and are in good usable condition. One of the rods is partially broken off where the nails would drive into the feet when you attach it to the barn roof but will still work great as a lightning ball display stand. Antique Prism Glass Tile Bubble Architectural Trademark Vintage Salvaged
A incredible find is this pressed glass prism tile that has been tucked away in a barn for decades. It has a raised dome pattern on one side that resembles bubbles or half marbles. It gives a distorted view and incredibly gorgeous light thru it! The other side is the maker's mark which is the Manufactures Glass Co. of Chicago. It is circa 1920s. These tiles were the precursor to glass block used to allow for maximum natural light. They were usually found in panels in lead came and used for transoms in old storefronts or industrial buildings. A wonderful piece for any historic glass collector. Glass artist or re-purpose/salvage artist. As with most salvaged glass it does have a few tiny flea bites along the edge which do not in any way detract from its beauty. I would date them to the late 1800's, early 1900's. These pieces are really large measuring 26" Tall and are solid. I'm not certain as to the type of wood. I have not seen anything like them in quite sometime and they are becoming more difficult to find. They would make a great brackets for a wall shelf or decorative conversation pieces.
