Antique 21" Tall solid wood 1880's porch baluster railing spindles white paint
Hi this auction is for ONE antique spindle/baluster. I have 15 to list. And I will combine. Please wait for an invoice if buying more that one.I will ship the best and most economical way. Listed is a nice. Circa 1880's, antique wood porch baluster, or railing piece. These balusters have many uses. The pieces are all the same, but if you turn them on different sides, you can achieve a different look. The approx size of each is: 21" tall, almost 3.5"one one bottom side, and 3 1/8" on the other side. Please keep in mind( if you order more than one) that the length might differ super slightly. you might have to trim one end to have the exact size. Also please keep in mind that these were torn off of a porch and there could be damage and wood loss on the bottoms. Please see photos. The paint is a white shade, slight to no chippy ... morepatina. These come from a home in St John Michigan. From the same house I have the antique porch columns listed in another auction. I do not know if these balusters were original to the home. 40 victorian porch baluster spindles 2.75" x 20" antique full set FREE SHIPPING
We bought these spindles for the front porch of our house from an architectural hardware store. Unfortunately. After we got them home we realized that we need more like 60 of them, and the cost of having additional copies made is cost prohibitive. They are a very pretty, traditional design. They are in reasonably good shape for their age but will require some sanding and wood filler in spots. We are willing to ship however the buyer wants and will not charge extra for packing them. We estimate it will cost around $50, possibly less, to ship them.

Lot of 10 Vintage White Shabby Chic Style Architectural Baluster Stair Spindles
Purchased out of a barn behind the house that was holding an estate sale. You are bidding on 10 vintage baluster stair spindles. The contents of the house were being sold by the children of the family that lived there and they have no idea how the stair spindles got in the barn, how they were used or how old they are. As a result I can’t tell you much about them. If you look at the pictures you’ll get a good idea of the condition. I can tell you that there are 10 pieces all together. Eight of the pieces measure 22” long and two have been cut down to 21” in length. Of the two that were cut down. Both ends are in good condition. Of the 8 that are 22” long, one end on three of them shows some damage, which might be why two were cut down. Otherwise they are in nice shabby chic condition. There still are some nails in a few of them. I did not ... moretry to repair or refinish them. I leave that decision up to the winning bidder. Here is a very unusual lot of old architectural spindles. Made of pine with a spiral twist to them. They measure from12 1/2" to 45" including the end blocks. They are cut from 1 1/2" square lumber. Nicely made with no weathering but there are remaining nails in the ends of some and scuffs to the soft shellac varnish. There is a gap in the size progression of 1 piece. Offered as a single lot are four matching 19th century antique wooden architectural columns dating ca. 1890. These turned and painted wooden porch spandrel spindles. Or balusters, were salvaged during the renovation of a Victorian era carriage house in Saratoga Springs, NY. Each antique spindle measures approx. 19.75 inches tall, with base and top measurements of approx. 2.5 inches square. The baluster spindles have a wonderful surface! They still retain most of their old, crackled, chippy white paint. The spindles stand on their own, if you wish to use them as mantel garnitures to flank an antique mirror or portrait. They would also work well if mounted together for a lamp base, or used as table legs. Condition is good. There is some light soiling and paint loss, as shown, minor dings and dents; nothing major. Taken from an old building in Portland. Maine. These spindles were made locally in Portland, Maine long time ago. Good condition considering age. Some have nails in them on top. There is paint/staining. Nice pieces to restore or whatnot. These measurements are taken from the shortest pieces of the top of spindles will have small variances and are approximate due mostly to the dove tails and the stop of spindles. 12 are apprx 27 1/2 inches, Nine are apprx 22 1/2 inches, Two are apprx 25 1/2 inches and one is apprx 22 1/2 inches long. 9 Victorian, Baluster Porch Spindles, Green/blue,Chippy Paint,hand turned,
9 Victorian Era Balusters/Spindles. Hand turned, appear to be a dark hardwood. they have several layers of paint, the top layer is an aqua green color, paint is very old and chipping. 5 are 2" by 30 1/2" 4 are 2" by 26 3/4" all are in 100 year old shape, but still great usable conditions, wood is solid, minor chips and cracks evident.

Lot of 11 turned Victorian porch balusters! approximately 1 ⅝” square and 20 ⅝” tall Up for bid is a lot of 11 antique Victorian porch balusters/spindles. These balusters are of matching design. The unturned top section is 2⅞” long. While the unturned bottom end is 3¾” long. Each wooden baluster has old chipping white paint. Note that these are architectural salvage items from a house in Beaver. PA and are around 110 years old. Because of this. They have flaws, dings, etc. that give them character. The bottom about 1 inch is often damaged from the nail holes(a few nail fragments remain) With scattered wood loss in that area. The top ends have nail holes. But with less evident damage. In addition. A very few have small chunks of other wood missing. The visible parts of the balusters are typical– I distributed the balusters on the ground ... morerandomly– without looking for the‘best’ sides. I have also listed an additional set of 38 balusters/spindles that were salvaged from the same house. They are the same essential size as this lot. But the turned pattern is somewhat different. If you get both lots. I can combine shipping into a single box, with some shipping cost reduction. These will be shipped within one or two business days of when I receive your PayPal payment.
