American Victorian Gothic Curved Oak Church Altar or Choir Baluster Pair: This is a twin pair of church choir balusters. I bought these at Red Baron Auctions in Atlanta(rbantiques dot com) These are solid oak with mahogany stain and have a wonderful gothic design. Each baluster is 125" long x 17" wide x 38" tall. They are in very good sound condition however they require having their finish restored. They are sturdy and make quite a statement. They are intended for indoor use. However, they could be adapted to outside use with the right amount of work put into it. The pictures were rotated in iPhoto and appear correct in my file. When eBay loads them, they get turned sideways again for some reason- sorry about that. They are being sold as a pair. WHEN MADE: Late 1800s SIZE: Approximately 15 3/4" long x 1 3/4" across each. The posts from square end to square end are 14" long each. The larger round unfinished end is 1 3/4" and the smaller unfinished end is 3/4" across. CONDITION: Free of breaks. Cracks or chips with normal wear including wear to the finish as shown. Modern Gothic American Aesthetic Frank Furness cast iron building rail fragment
Here is a wonderful and rarely found cast iron balustrade panel from a Victorian building in Eastern Pennsylvania. The geometry and precision of the design recalls the work of Philadelphia architect Frank Furness. Unfortunately. I don't know where exactly this fragment came from as it came from a local auction. H: 26, W: 12" the panel is solid cast iron and weighs over 20 lbs. Old cream paint remains with age rust showing through. Great silhouette to this fragment, suitable for hanging inside or outside on a wall. Very bold and dramatic Modern Gothic design. Unusual Pair of Gothic Tracery Plinth Blocks 5 inch
Each block is 5" square and 3/4" thick. This is another item consigned by a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. This piece can be combined with others to save on shipping.

This listing is for all three! Love these! These beautiful pieces were part of a porch railing on an antique gothic home. The are in good shape considering all the weather that they have survived. They would have fit between the top and bottom rail on the front porch. Typically these were not necessary for carrying any load of the house so they were ultimately added for their beauty. Please see the pictures for the condition issues. I think the wearing down of the paint through the years is a bonus: They are 21 inches in length and the width at the top and bottom is approx 5 1/2 inches. Each one weighs in at a pound. These would be lovely hung on a wall or standing up on a fireplace mantle. Loads of thoughts and would love to hear yours as well! You can also use these pieces as a pattern to replicate them to use on your own front porch! Advisory- ... moreThe paint that is on these beauties is probably a lead base paint. If you want to keep the original finish then I would suggest spraying them with a polyurethane which will protect the finish and act as a glue to keep any flecks of paint from coming off.
