Vintage Antique Industrial 6 ft Iron Handrail with Wall Brackets, Stair Rail
This solid all one piece antique handrail is all solid iron. The mount brackets are welded in place, it measures 71" long, the rail is 1 1/4" x 1/2" thick, the 3 wall mount flanges are 3" diameter and each have 3 screw holes to mount to a wall. Heavy and sturdy, all solid so it weight close to 20 lbs and will last a lifetime! Wonderful curl detail at each end, could be mounted on left or right, overall length covers 6 or 7 steps(at my house, but yours may vary) awesome industrial/ institutional design, the paint has perfect patina, aged white over a black layer- i think it looks great, but could easily be stripped or painted to suit your needs. Very hard to find as solid and durable as this, very desireable feature for any home. All payment methods accepted, comes from a smoke free home.

Up for auction is a(lot of 6) antique wooden stair balusters in excellent condition. They are solid with no rot but do have crackled layers of white paint and some nicks. Also there are nail holes in the ends(see photo#6) They are 18" in length and the square ends are 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" I have 20 of these available so if anyone would like to purchase more than 6. Note that these are architectural salvage items from a house in Beaver. PA and are around 110 years old. Because of this. They have flaws, dings, etc. that give them character. Antique Cast Iron Balusters 1920's; 6 copper coated 25" posts reclaimed wrought
This is for a listing of 6 cast iron balusters with slopes cut as shown. At the square ends it is about 1 1/4 thick these are very nice decorative and heavy pieces. These are really beautiful historic antique pieces reclaimed from an interior stair railing of a public school near Pittsburgh PA. We have personally used elements from this rail for several projects making railings. Gates, and even a head board for a bed. The possibilities are endless. We are several sets of these posts, along with other elements that have been separated from the original railing. Originally these were all attached to the railing by screws so the tops and bottoms are tapped. About half of the screws are broke off and would have to be drilled and retapped. Or they can be welded onto steel. It doesn't weld as nice as modern steel but it still finishes pretty ... moregood-if you know what you're doing. It had a lot of white and green paint chipping off. That scraped or brushed off easily. By wire brushing the black looking tarnish comes off and the pieces start to show their original bright copper finish. They must have used some sort of dip or electroplating method. It still shines through after all these years. I'm basing the age on the architecture of the building in which they were reclaimed. It was out of a really magnificent public school building that had been built in the 20's and sat empty for decades until it was recently renovated. Please see pictures as they are an important part of the description. Photos show two of the balusters but there are 24 in all- 6 offered in this sale. Due to damage to the rail itself. Some if the twelve balusters may have softness towards one of their ends. The softness is only about 1" or so up from their ends so it can be cut off. Some of the bottoms have chunks of wood detached or missing where the grain lines separated in the soft areas. All have multiple layers of paint on them; creamy white underneath the latest coat of gray/green. The paint is peeling off in thick layers in some area and not ... moreat all in other areas. They measure about 17.75" tall, 5.5" across at the top and bottom, and the width is about 1.25" deep. EACH baluster weights about 1 lb 10 ounces. I have not cleaned these balusters but they are not very dirty. They were stored on a porch out of the rain and are in quite good shape for repurposing. As mentioned previously. I have 24 of these balusters all from the same salvage: six are offered here and the others are for sale- contact me if you want the whole lot. Asking $5 each but would consider offers. They are made of pine wood and ... morehave previously been painted. The paint is mostly worn off. But there are some traces of the old brown paint left. 3 of the balusters are in good condition, but 3 have some wood slivers chipped off on one side where they split from taking them off of the railing when the nails pulled out.
