This auction is for one(1) antique vintage victorian wooden architectural porch spindled fence rail balustrade. It was removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. I have no idea in what year this particular porch balustrade was installed on the house. Meaning no way for me to know whether it was an original or a replacement somewhere down the line. I only know the year the house was built, and that the rails were here when we bought it. It is 114 inches long. The top and bottom rails that are held together by the balusters are 3.5" wide. There are 14 spindles that make up the balustrade, with 6 13/16" gaps between each one. The squared-off portions of each spindle are 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" Each spindle/baluster is 26.5" tall. They range in length from 23 1/2" to 23 3/4" and are approximately 4 11/16" to 4 7/8" wide at the ends. They range from 13/16" to just under an inch thick and weigh about 1 1/2 lbs. each. I recently salvaged this railing from my boyhood home just before it was demolished. The house was built in 1923. And my Dad kept the railings(and everything else) in good repair. It was painted several times over the years, and is reasonably sound for being outdoors for 90 years. It was quite sturdy when I removed it from the porch. It's 101 inches long and 25 inches high. The top rail is 3 3/8 Inches wide by 2 3/4 Inches deep. There are 22 balusters, each 18 1/2 inches long and 1 3/4 inches square at the ends.
