Brass Bed Post Headboard Footboard Knobs Finials
These are big! Each is two pieces and when they are combined each is 7 inches tall. 4 and a quarter inches wide at their widest and the opening where the knob slips over the bedpost is 2 inches. I don't know how old they are but they are a nice addition to any HUGE bed. A few minor blemishes. Ask for photos and I'll do my best to capture them on film. There are a pair of vintage cast iron garden finials on this listing. They are about 7" long and retain much of the original green paint. Detroit Carbon Arc Light Post Finials "1890's"
For your consideration are a pair of cast iron Detroit carbon arc light post finials that I believe are from the the late 1800's.They make a real statement when displayed in any room and are totally original. These were prominently displayed at the tallest section of the light post. They weigh approx 18 lbs each and measure approx 17 3/4 by 6 in at their widest point. Selling as a LOT- this group of crica 1870 exterior fence post newels with LARGE finials. There are some broken tops- there is also wear on the bottoms of the posts. Overall there are six good posts with finials- these can be reused for a fence project inside or out. Great old form& and nice old dry white paint. Posts measure 41" high. The finial tops are 16" in height. The square dimension of the posts at greatest point measure 7" are 4.75" square on the main shaft. BEAUTIFUL PAIR ANTIQUE WHITE OVERLAY NEWEL POST FINIALS
This is beautiful matching pair of Newel post finials from the mid-1800s. They retain their original brass fittings and are made of a shiny layer of white glass over a clear glass interior. The white overlay glass has been cut through in circular rings of punties. One measured 6-1/2 inches tall. While the other is slightly smaller at 6-3/8 inches. This is to be expected in hand blown glass. Both have a maximum diameter of approximately 3 inches. Both are in excellent condition with no damage to the glass. One has a small open bubble on the lower edge of one punty(see last picture) This resulted when a bubble in the clear glass was cut when the punty was cut into the glass. It does not go through the glass and there are no associated cracks or chips. This is the way the finial was made some 150 years ago. The brass fittings are in good condition ... morewith only a couple of tiny nicks from long ago. This is a beautiful set of white overlay Newel post finials. Antique Pair 2 of Acorn or Pinecone Brass Bronze Newel Post Cap Finials Germany
This pair is 3 1/2" high. not counting the screw) 2 1/2" across center, 6 3/4" around middle of acorn or pinecone. Screw is 1 1/4" all the way into the cap, about 1" extends beyond edge of cap. Marked Germany on each. They weigh 9.5oz each. Solid brass or bronze, a magnet does not stick, but it does to the screw part. There is some rust on the underside as shown. These would have many uses, great on a newel post, or a broken pediment on a secretary or chest or bed, on the top of bed posts. The possibilities are endless. I don't really know what to call them, acorns, pinecones, pineapples, or artichokes. LOL just threw that last one in for laughs. Just drill a pilot hole and screw it in. THESE CAST FINIALS WERE SALVAGED FROM A DEMOLISHED CYCLONE FENCE'S POSTS. THEY DATE FROM AROUND THE 1930s-40s. The surfaces are in great condition. no corrosion. No dents, no damage. The finials are a lighter-weight material like aluminum but they do not have ANY corrosion like aluminum would have! So I cannot say for certain what kind of metal they are. Up for your consideration are two vintage brass finials.Two of the same size.They measure 4 3/8" tall. The ball part is a little less than 3" wide. The hole on the bottom is about 2 inches wide. As you can see from the pictures the inside of the hole is threaded,this is just the design,you do not have to screw these on. Total weight is about 1 1/2 pounds. I did not clean these.Some people like the old brass look. Nice set of brass finials for a fence post- bed post or a steampunk self display.
