Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Architectural Porch Railing Balustrade Fence 114"
This auction is for one(1) antique vintage victorian wooden architectural porch spindled fence rail balustrade. It was removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. I have no idea in what year this particular porch balustrade was installed on the house. Meaning no way for me to know whether it was an original or a replacement somewhere down the line. I only know the year the house was built, and that the rails were here when we bought it. It is 114 inches long. The top and bottom rails that are held together by the balusters are 3.5" wide. There are 14 spindles that make up the balustrade, with 6 13/16" gaps between each one. The squared-off portions of each spindle are 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" Each spindle/baluster is 26.5" tall. From the top of the top rail to the bottom of the bottom rail, the height ... moreof this piece is 29.5" I've also included pictures of the house when it was still installed before we removed it. 4 ANTIQUE Wooden BALUSTER SPINDLES Beautiful OLD WHITE PAINT Victorian Columns
Offered as a single lot are four matching 19th century antique wooden architectural columns dating ca. 1890. These turned and painted wooden porch spandrel spindles. Or balusters, were salvaged during the renovation of a Victorian era carriage house in Saratoga Springs, NY. Each antique spindle measures approx. 19.75 inches tall, with base and top measurements of approx. 2.5 inches square. The baluster spindles have a wonderful surface! They still retain most of their old, crackled, chippy white paint. The spindles stand on their own, if you wish to use them as mantel garnitures to flank an antique mirror or portrait. They would also work well if mounted together for a lamp base, or used as table legs. Condition is good. There is some light soiling and paint loss, as shown, minor dings and dents; nothing major. Ornate Iron Railings Victorian Wrought Iron 12' section Handrail Baluster Stair
Wonderful antique iron baluster railings. Set of 2 matching pieces. The longer one measures 12 feet long. It is an angled section. The best I can approximate. It rises 4 feet over the 12 foot run. I think that makes it a 30 degree incline? It is very heavy(probably 200+ pounds) Missing some of the rings in the design, but still a nice run of rail overall. Rust isn't deep- mostly surface rust if any. You will get both sections pictured here. The smaller porch steps handrail is 3 feet long at level, then another 25" downhill. The difference in height of the 2 ground posts on the porch rail is 14" This means it is probably only meant for 2 or 3 steps. I'm putting this on ebay to see what interest there is for it. Nice old pine stair spindles. They have nice turnings at each end with a squared center body. These are salvaged pieces so they will have nails. Nail holes, small chips, cracks, and splits. They vary in length slightly from 30 1/4"long to 32"long. Overall they are in good usable condition. The unturned top section is 2⅞” long. While the unturned bottom end is 3¾” long. Each wooden baluster has old chipping white paint. Note that these are architectural salvage items from a house in Beaver. PA and are around 110 years old. Because of this. They have flaws, dings, etc. that give them character. We have a 3 story house and are replacing Victorian staircase-there are two straight bannisters. 3 heavy Newel posts, several dozen spindles and two hallway bannisters on the 2nd and 3rd levels. We believe the staircase was original to the house which was built in 1895- we are renovating and going with a modern look but want to find someone who will give these lovely architectural items a good home as they are one of a kind and cannot be found these days unless you hand craft them at enormous expense. 10 Oak Balusters From a Victorian-Era Staircase Some are angled and some are flat for different parts of the stairs. The angled spindles are 24" long and the flats are 20-3/4" long. The bases are 1-3/4" square. There are some splits in the wood from age. Some have old gunk on the surface. They need to be cleaned or refinished. Sawn Balusters for Porches This baluster is a pattern used on Victorian homes in the 1880s. Pictures show 3 balusters and pic 2 is a closeup of the shamrocks. This same pattern is available without the shamrock if you might want that just look at my other auctions. It measures 3/4 inches thich x 5.3 inches wide x 30 inches tall. It is made of fir. A weather resistant wood commonly used for exterior applications. If you are interested in other woods let me know and I will give you a qoute. I can make as many of these as you need. Victorian Oak Stair 4 Newel Posts Railing Balusters Architectural Salvage
This lot salvaged from an 1880's Brownstone includes fou r newel posts. Three railings 114" 100" and 80" long. There are 30 thirty inch tall spindles/balusters(stair railings) and 13 twenty six inch tall spindles/blausters(landing railing) I have included a photo where I easily scratched off the paint to show the natural color and grain. Which appears to be oak. Part of the lot was for the stair railing, the rest for the landing railing. I will also send 2 or 3 other spindles which were broken. I have posted 12 pictures to try to show the condition. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I couldn't begin to determine shipping costs.
